The Pianist, One flew over the cuckoo's nest, V for Vendetta, Schindler's List, Hannibal, Silence of the Lambs, Rocky (yea i know, but i love it) Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Beautiful mind, Donnie Darko, Lock stock and two smoking barrels, Inception, Memento, Machinist, American Psycho, The Prestige, Reservoir Dogs, Revolver, Sleepers

that should be enough for the start
Glad to see you mentioned The Pianist, a movie I watched for the first time a year ago and have watched a few times since. Adrien Brody is brilliant.

I don't have much to add as most have been mentioned. Godfather I & II of course and Goodfellas, all of Sergio Leone's films. I thought Inception was brilliant. Rocky (I through IV and Rocky Balboa for me, but really just the first), Raging Bull, Casino. No Country For Old Men, as far as recent films go.

I don't like movies nowadays. I feel like all the great ideas are now all done and gone. Only thing worthy of a look would be something like a true-story that has never been done before.

Love actors like Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Dustin Hoffman, George Clooney, Liam Neeson etc. All legends!

The Town was absolute bollocks.

I thought it was a brutal movie. Ben Affleck just stroking his own pathetic ego with that one.

Jeremy Renner was solid, he usually is. But the movie itself I thought was trash.

Movies are a personal thing... some people like um, others might hate um.

Precisely why I despise movie critics.

There are a ton of great movies being made. A lot of really interesting foreign films.

I'm a big fan of Rec (I'm sure you've seen it)

Check out the Masters of Horror series
No Roi (Japanese film, you can find on youtube I believe)
The Orphanage
The Devil's Backbone

Those are the one's I suggest (even though they're all recent). I could suggest a few more from that time period, just let me know what type of horror you enjoy.
