Montreal

Alrighty, Me and the girl are headed to Montreal for 5 days this coming Thursday.

I've been there numerous times but only for either bachelor party 3 day weekend of booze, food and bars all day OR a leafs-habs game weekend.

So needless to say i didnt really go out much to see the city. Ive been to old montreal and biodome YEARSSSS ago so im definitely gonna go there again as i really enjoyed it. But, when going with a woman its slightly different haha.

I know to hit the underground malls, Les Cours Mount Royal, St Denis/St Laurent for shopping and also St catherine.

I have a few other places to check out on my list but was wondering what some of you enjoyed about MTL and places of interest you think a couple would enjoy.

I want to hit the jazz festival if thats going on. The woman is not into "fine" art so museums are out (weird considering shes a pianist and elementary music teacher).

Let me know of your ideas fellas!

Here's a good summary of some stuff in Montreal:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Places_in_Montreal

I've been to Montreal for the Formula One Grand Prix (two years ago?) and it was very neat. I loved it there and I was only there for a weekend.

The Old Port and the Olympic Park are great places IMO.

That link I gave you should be helpful. Have fun in Montreal and make the best of it!!!

:)

Jatt I'm not sure if it's going on this weekend, but I remember I was there for the Jazz fest two years ago and on the Saturday they were doing some real nice fireworks on the waterfront by LaRonde. It can be very romantic if you get there early, pick a good spot on the pier or on a hillside with a blanket and just take it from there.

If you're into it, the ghost walk of Old Montreal is extremely cool to do as well.

I love Montreal. Definately one of my favorite cities in North America.

Take a walk / hike to the top of the mountain (mount royal). That's a must for any trip to the city. The views are amazing.

St. Denis and St. Laurent streets rock my world. I could wander those streets for hours.

Old Montreal is awesome too.

I went to Olympic park once. It was OK. The biodome was pretty cool and we also went to the top of the "tower" in Olympic stadium. I'd do this option (tower) if you are pretty bored only.

Have a great trip man. If other stuff comes to me i'll mention it.

I hear MTL have the best strip clubs in North America.

We have something in common there. I got to see a game right next to the warm-up mound for the opposing team which was the Mets when Doc Gooden was being used as a reliever. I could see beads of sweat on his face, just ten feet away from him. Then he goes into the game in the 9th and Larry Walker nails one of the prettiest line-drive homers I've ever seen to end the game. Good memories there. I can't even come close to getting into baseball anymore.

I like Montreal now just to walk around in. It's so much better than Toronto in that regard.
