According to my nerdy, science-obsessed friend at work, there's tons of these things already running around the world, this is just the biggest one to date. I believe there's one in New York State that's been running for a couple of years. The people that are saying it's unsafe and trying to stop it are groups that are also trying to or are already conducting the same sort of experiments.

At first I was really afraid to see this. But now I realize these people know what they are doing. It's just simply amazing how much humanity has achieved.

It can create a blackhole that theorically could suck up the world!!! (insert scary music)

I read an article about it aswell, i cant remember the exact point but they think it can unlock many medical mysterys and perhaps (insert glorious music here) time travel (obv a longshot but possible in theory). Along with many other benefits im sure others here can remember.
