Default Led Zeppelin Enter The Studio

Quote:
Drummer Jason Bonham has confirmed that he is working on new material with original Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, although lead singer Robert Plant has not been working with the band.

Writing new material has been “on the cards” since the band’s one-off reunion show in London last December, he told 94.7 WCSX.

"At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material," he said.

"When I get there [in the studio] I never ask any questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it.

"Whatever it ends up as, to ever get a chance to jam with two people like that, it is a phenomenal thing for me. It’s my life. It’s what I’ve dreamed about doing.

"Lots of politics [would need to] get ironed out [before an album could be made]."

Led Zeppelin played their first concert in 19 years, in front of nearly 20,000 fans, at London’s 02 Arena in December.

Original band members Page, Plant and Jones were joined on stage by Jason Bonham - the son of their late drummer John.

So, what do you think, do you think anything decent can come out of this?
Without Plant there? the only member whos still doing something decent with that country chick? Dont remember her name.

Even with Robert Plan I think they cant do anything remotly good.

looks sketchy to me at best. the younger bonham is most certainly not his dad, and without plant hitting the high g's they just won't sound like zeppelin. might be quite, quite ugly.

I'd take what Jason says with a grain of salt.

yep, he probably wants to get some attention or something. I read Page and Plant had fight again and thats the reason they only did one concert, and I reaaally doubt there would be Plant-less zepellin album.

He was actually quite good at the O2 show - sounded just like his dad.
I would LOVE it if they got back together, even if they got someone like Chris Robinson (who did a great job with his band and Page) to sing. Robert Plant's singing is my least favourite part of Zeppelin.

Does anyone remember when he could sing?

Edit: He does sound great with Alison Krauss, although anyone would.

Yeah, it was in 1969.

Unfortunately years of drinking, smoking, singing improperly and the natural loss of ones range as they age have taken it's toll.

At the O2 I thought he he sounded (at least on video) like he was hitting all of the notes. They probably had to tune down a full step to 430 though.
