The ice storm is on now here, I doubt I'll lose power, we almost never do, but I imagine it could get bad for others.

Got our power back on around 12:00. All in all we were a little over 24 hours without electricity ans IT SUCKED BAD.

Truth be told it wouldn't have been so bad if it was just me and wife, but when you have little kids it just makes it tough... we were basically in the middle of packing to go to my parents place in mississauga when the lights came back on THANK GOD. House was down to about 10 degrees today and the kids were getting too cold. sleeping in full clothes isn't nice.

So much damage in my neighbourhood. It's going to take a while to clean this up.

fucking FREEZING again.

My pathetic little furnace is having a hard time keeping the house warm although knock on wood it hasn't been too bad today and yesterday compared to the last cold spell.

Also whenever it's cold like this i get a really annoying ice buildup on the inside on my car's windshield - takes me forever to scrape it off (on account of the inverse curve of the window inside the vehicle).

so cold man. i'll go out to my car during lunch, start it and run it for a couple minutes. I'll go out and do it again around 3. My car's in good shape but you can never be too careful.

The main issue i have with this type of weather when its freezing is how dry the air is indoors because of the heaters. I almost feel like its hurting my sinuses to breathe.

well i fixed my furnace (i think). I replaced my fancy thick-remove all allergen-accordion air filter with the cheapest ($5 for a pack of 3) dust filter. Problem solved furnace acts properly now.

Depending on where you are, today sucks.

There was no way I was going to travel to St. Catharines for work today. I did that during the early January storm and it took me 2 1/2 hours to get home. I've learned my lesson.
