you're right, they're not a scam. but in downtown toronto, where i drive to the supermarket, the vet or to a gig/rehearsal, i'm just fine. now if you live in ottawa or in a rural area, or anywhere up north, you'll need them, for sure. but in t.o. the roads are plowed quickly and as long as you don't drive like a douche you don't really need them.

i'm sure when i have kids i will chnage my mind about this in 2-3 seconds.

We have them now.

They're also not to quick to plow in St. Kitts.

I'm sure snow tires are technically superior in tests...... And I'm sure if you puts chains on that would be even better..... but for me, neither one is necessary for driving around the city.

i hear what you guys are saying about not wanting them or not bothering to get them (due to the fact that they'll probably only be handy 2-3 times outta the season - maybe more depending on the dumping), but i can tell you that on those 2-3 days; you'll be glad you have them.
i cant stress enough how amazing they are... seriously.
if you skid when you drive, odds are your tires arent good enough. you will not skid with winter tires.
i see cars swirving and sliding along the road with zero traction and it baffles me why they dont just get winter tires. its so unsafe to drive like that.

the plows do a decent job here, but even when the roads are just slick or theres only 3-5 CMs on the ground; winter tires dominate the road.

if you've tried them, i guarentee you'll be singing a different tune.

Ching park is boatloads of downhill fun. I used to have a girl that lived across from there and it was mad amounts of fun in the winter. Damn, I'm jealous. I could go for a gang of Tanqueray, a bit of green and a little sled right now.
