It took me 40 minutes to get to work this morning.

Why people find it a good idea to drive 5mph in the snow is beyond me.

Wait, how fast is that in KPH?

It took me 25 minutes to walk from Museum station (i.e., res.) to Queen's Park (i.e., the lab.) ... too much slipping and sliding.

People were driving at 8 KPH, Acie?

Those drivers should be shot.

I dread the drive back to Sunnybrook this afternoon.

Incarceration should suffice.

Damn, that's bananas. It takes me that much time to walk from around Museum to Union.

it's not like Montreal or Ottawa where they get dumped on on the regular in the winter. Our (in the Toronto area) winters aren't the same.

I'm really not liking the idea that they'll make it mandatory here.

In addition to the cost of getting the tires and the inconvenience of changing them twice...... Some of the people I know who have them are seeing a big drop in fuel efficiency since putting them on.

shovelling is an amazing cardio workout.
i only get upset when the plow comes and dumps that ice on the edge of the driveway... if you leave that untouched it is almost impossible to remove.

maybe you guy shave been lucky, but I can tell you this much, calling them a scam is simply wrong. Snow tires are way more safe, and if EVERYONE had them, you'd see less accidents.
