for bigger equipment shipping tends to be a problem though. I got my axiom 49 a couple years off kijiji for 150 which was a great deal back then.

agree about bigger stuff, but i love ebay for parts and accessories. Man things are so much cheaper online than in stores. only drawback is waiting 3 weeks for the shipping lol.

No, in the end the price was too rich for me.

But I'll keep looking for one.

was at my regular band jam night last and we were really on to something good. It was one of those great jams were everyone was in the pocket and some really cool ideas were flowing. and then the cops showed up and that was that

i should have prefaced that we play at my friends house. We've done it for months now without issue (always stop at 10:00pm). I guess one of the neighbours complained.

i am really becoming an SG guy.
I recently sold my SG with the idea of picking up a newer epi pro one with coil tapping pickups. A couple days ago i grabbed a second hand one in band new shape and i'm REALLY digging it. Kept my bigsby off the old SG and put it on the new one. This guitar is like the jack of all trades. With the split coil humbuckers i can get pretty much any tone i want. this SG is lighter than my old one and has a slighty thinner neck (i think). Very playable and i have really bonded with this thing.

that delay one at 3:08 is crazy. No idea how he was getting that 'effect' out of a delay pedal, but it sounded brilliant.

this thread hasn't seen much action lately so i'll post a pic of my latest little project. It's a blacktop jazzmaster that i've had for some time. Swapped out the pickguard and stock plastics for aged white ones. also macgyevered a zebra look to the humbucker:

i have question for all the players in this thread..it might be a little off topic but i thought i'd get the best response here
my son in law recently picked up an electric (really beat up piece of shit) and has been trying to learn how to play...sits with his buddies to figure out chords etc etc
he would be considered an absolute beginner but he seems genuinely interested

i recently came across a video/console "game" called Rocksmith 2014 - The Fastest Way to Learn Guitar

here's a link.....Rocksmith

wanted to help him out and was wondering what you guys think about this...would it be worth the money as a learning tool ?
i would hook it up to my old 360 for him
i figured you guys could tell me whether this looks alright or is complete bullshit

thanks for any feedback

i don't have any experience with it, but i have only heard good things about rocksmith when it comes to learning.

I'm not sure about the specifics of how you hook up the guitar into the xbox. I'm assuming you need a special chord at the very least. It would be lame if it called for a specific guitar.

from what i understand, it comes with a cable/cord that connects any guitar to the Xbox

oh that makes it a lot better then. check out some amazon reviews of it, but again from what i have heard it sounds like a great (and fun) tool for a guitarist who is starting out.
