Yo my fellow axe-men. I have a question/concern.

Few weeks ago i picked up a second hand acoustic (epiphone hummingbird). This guitar is freaking great. Sounds brilliant with strumming/chords, looks like a dream, all that jazz.

Anyways i have a problem with the B string staying in tune. and sometimes the skinny E too. When i play rhythm it holds its tune pretty good, but when i solo or do any significant bending the b strings goes really flat really quickly.

What really surprises me about this is that my other epiphones stay in tune like a dream. Even the bottom of the line $120 acoustic i have (for which the hummingbird is an upgrade over). AND the hummingbird has grover tuners (which ironically none of my other guitars have). For what it's worth i did restring the guitar right after buying it with pretty pricey light-med Martin strings (and yes i stretch the strings and yes i always tune up)

Any advise? Can it be the strings? can it be the B tuner?
Is there anything i should do myself or should i take it in to get serviced?

oh hey man. problem kind of went away on its own. I seldom have to retune anymore.

I bought the guitar used so it probably was sitting around a lot prior to me buying it. Maybe that had something to do with it? I don't know. either way it's fine now.

and i can't believe lars ulrich is worth more than charlie watts.

I'm afraid of the wear and tear on my other two SG's.

I've always wanted a white Standard.

I just killed two birds with one stone.

Or at least this is how I'm justifying a completely unnecessary purchase.

is that one of those smaller sized guitars?

I'm modding up my bullet strat with one the girls in mind myself (so far changed the tuners). the other one can have the telecaster after i get something better.

Yeah, it's a mini strat with a small-scale neck.

The amp is a 4 watt Vox. Huge tone for such a small amp.

Seriously, it kicks ass.

And it's only $250.00.

I've been looking for a small low-watt amp and was thinking something vintage, but that might be perfect. I'll check it out.
