I remember awhile back you were mentioning how you bought (or maybe already had) that red SG?

Looking at maybe buying one, never got a chance to play it though.

You a big fan?
Yup, I have a red SG Standard, a Natural Burst SG Standard and I just got the White SG Special.

There's nothing quite like the feel and sound of an SG. I really, really love them.

At the very least, start on a 4 string.

My buddy who in my books is a tremendous musician strongly recommended the SG to me, gonna go play it at the store and see if it's the real deal. Everyone seems to say nothing but great things about it.

Not guitar or bass but rather drums. Not really my thing, but impressive stuff from the pride of Port Dalhousie...

You're making me wish I hung on to my sg firebrand. At least I have my assortment of guitars and such on my iPad.

I've always been partial to Seymour Duncans.

Pickups for StratŪ - Seymour Duncan

Fralin are supposed to be really good too.

i really like my strats to sound as strat-y as possible. in this case i am just sick of the single coil hum in the recording process, but i want to stay as close to the original as possible. i'm leaning towards the vintage noiseless because i think it is the most authentic sound. i think seymour duncan's can be good too, butg they just don't fit this guitar, in terms of tone.

has anyone got opinions on the fender noiseless series?

hey guys, i have a question that maybe some of you can help me out with. I know it might seem like a pointless thing to ask, but i feel like bringing it up anyways

I used to play guitar a lot years ago. I was alright... could hold my own in both lead and rhythm, played in a couple bands, etc. But i haven't played in probably 7 years. Recently since i moved i've been getting an urge to play again. Any advice on how to re-kindle my relationship with my strat? How would some of you recommend getting back to playing after such a long break?

just pick it up and play man.

pick a couple of tunes that you like, find the charts online, and give them a go. and then try to remember some of the stuff you used to play. and then just jam around.

if you want to practice soloing, there's a fun feature in garage band where you can play along with instrument tracks to various generic songs. they aren't complicated, but would do for getting started again. i forget what it's called, but it's pretty easy to find.

What do i need to hook my guitar up to the mac? a patch cord with a usb extension on the end?
