what kind of gibson? play it. if it sounds good and the neck is true, that's all that matters.

if you want to be sure, find the serial number and look it up on the web.

Better yet, buy it and if you don't like it either 'trane or I will give you you half of what you paid for it.

I've gone mad.

Clearly I don't need any more gear, but I just orderd one of these.

Yup, same colour. It's Jim Adkins from Jimmy Eat World's custom model. Apparently with the P-90's it sings and I like that it's got a Gibson Tune-O-Matic style bridge as well.

Just play every song in the key of C and then you only have to play the white keys (unless of course you want to add a little colour).

i've heard good things about that guitar. as long as you're not a fender traditionalist it should be all good. i wonder if it will be able to keep the cleans clean if youy play it loud? the semi-hollow body might be fun to play with in terms of feedback and distortion.

i want to crank that baby up.

I think it should stay clean. My SG's do with my Vox cranked.

I love feedback so much it's not even funny. One review I read says it's capable of (among other things) getting a nice Pete Townshend SG Special tone

You'll have to come down for a visit and we'll have a jam session.

i'm a maple fretboard guy too. ebony is better - that's what my es355 is - but i def prefer maple over rosewood.

My hands sweat a lot and I find maple get's too gummy.

I also like the look of an ebony fretboard better.

i know what you mean by the gumminess, but i find that rosewoods boards get slick with sweat, and i find that slipperiness a bit of a problem.

ebony rules. the gibson custom setup is just so easy to play. effortless.

yeah, I meant the fretboard. I have always liked maple. Specially for the feeling and look. But I wonder how the brighter sound will go with the semihollow of a tele. Havent had the chance to try it.

My bro wants to sell me one of his custom built fretless basses. But I dont want to spend more money. It sucks because it is a sweet instrument.

I think the taste on the fretboard is the most subjetive thing there is in a guitar. I mean, for me rosewood feels really unconfortable, I dont know why, so I dont understand how people can play it. It has to be something on each persons hand skin.

I wonder if Keith knows that Jimmy called him a really good Chuck Berry ripoff artist? Kind of ironic considering...
