also....looks like Ed Norton will not be a part of the upcoming Avengers film

UPDATE: No Edward Norton for The Avengers

Edward Norton will not be reprising his role as Dr. Bruce Banner, reports HitFix, who say that Marvel Studios plan to cast a new actor in the part.
The report theorizes that a deal could not be made, despite Edward Norton wanting to join the ensemble cast that will include Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Chris Evans as Captain America.
Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige confirmed the report with the following statement he sent to the site:
"We have made the decision to not bring Ed Norton back to portray the title role of Bruce Banner in the Avengers. Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members. The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert, Chris H, Chris E, Sam, Scarlett, and all of our talented casts. We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks."

INSIDER 07-11-2010 02:09 PM

im a big comic fan... not as big as you Mr. M (or benzo for that matter), but absolutely love everything comic related.

have you read 'Old Man Logan'... i know its old now, but that one really blew me away.

I'm really looking forward to the avengers movie now... i think these guys can pull it off, it will be epic.
i wasnt a fan of norton in the Hulk, but i guess its because i didnt really like the movie much. But with everyone else around and him not being the main character, i think he'll do a good job.

no doubt money was an issue but i've also heard that Marvel wanted him out because he was so difficult to work with

I would love to post in this thread...however...the tears of joy that it exists is enough...

"old man Logan" was good, as Clint Barton is one of my all time favs...

I recommend everyone go pick up "Y-The last Man"

lol...welcome to the thread Benzo
i'm guessing that you're a Stephen Strange fan

i'm sure that you've heard that Marvel studios has hired Thomas Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer to write the screenplay for an upcoming Dr Strange film...supposedly coming out in 2012

i'm hoping they follow the Marvel animated movie that was released back in 2007

A friend of mine recommended that to me. I eventually got a hold of it and I got hooked immediately, spent 5 days just reading it non-stop (even at work during my night shifts). It was pretty good. I love anything with a post-apocalyptic feel to it.

I think they're making a movie (trilogy) out of it too.

N64 07-11-2010 06:50 PM

Never really got into comic books...stopped reading for the last few years tbh lol, used to read a lot but the bullshit they give us in English class is too boring

but I searched up Y the last man and it seems pretty interesting...set a hold at the library and hope to get it soon :D

benz, is Y the last man just one hard cover? or is it a bunch of comics?
i would love to look into it - the story line looks great. i'd prefer just one book though, i dont like having to find like 10 different comics for the whole story.

I almost hate to say this as it is counter productive to supporting the industry....but because it is such a hard book to get your hands on 60 ish issues.
.
......

.....just download it....

shhhhhh

Y is 60 issues long...too big for one book
the series is broken down like this

1 Unmanned Y: The Last Man #15
2 Cycles Y: The Last Man #610
3 One Small Step Y: The Last Man #1117
4 Safeword Y: The Last Man #1823
5 Ring of Truth Y: The Last Man #2431
6 Girl on Girl Y: The Last Man #3236
7 Paper Dolls Y: The Last Man #3742
8 Kimono Dragons Y: The Last Man #4348
9 Motherland Y: The Last Man #4954
10 Whys and Wherefores Y: The Last Man #5560

i would imagine each book runs around $16-$18 (TPB's)

publishers are also in the process of doing the series in Deluxe HC editions...don't think Book 5 is available yet and i have no idea what the cost of these would be

1 Deluxe Book One Y: The Last Man #110
2 Deluxe Book Two Y: The Last Man #1123
3 Deluxe Book Three Y: The Last Man #2436
4 Deluxe Book Four Y: The Last Man #3748
5 Deluxe Book Five Y: The Last Man #49-60

MrClutch 07-11-2010 10:33 PM

lol is there a site to download comics?
