k, had to look this stuff up so don't feel bad
i knew he started with green but wasn't sure when he switched over to blue

his first appearance was in X-Men 4 (1964)...green costume

from there he joined the Avengers in issue #16 (1965)...green costume

changed to blue in 1970 (Avengers #75)

he's had different combos since then...including this "Ultimate" version...this looks very close to what they've shown for the movie

this just might be the best news i've heard in years

Pixar Makes Plans for The Incredibles 2!

Quote:
Disney Chairman and CEO Robert A. Iger today announced that Pixar Animation Studios is developing a big screen sequel to Brad Bird's 2004 superhero adventure The Incredibles. The announcement was made during a meeting of shareholders and D23 Members during the company's annual meeting today in Portland, Oregon.

A sequel to The Incredibles has been requested by fans for the past decade with the original film's writer/director Brad Bird having said in the past that he's open to another adventure, but only if it has a truly great story idea behind it. There's no confirmation yet of Bird's involvement, but he remains closely tied to Disney.

and for anyone who hasn't watched the original ?..imho, it is THE best animated film ever...bar none

well i waited and waited (original release date was December ?)...it was finally released today...Sandman Overture #2

in all seriousness, i can't begin to describe just how brilliant/wondrous this comic is...i really don't even know how to describe it
when i downloaded issue 2 today i read 1 and 2 together because it had been so long in between releases...i immediately went back and re-read them another 2 times
if you like comics, then this new series is an absolute must

I took my son to the comic book store for the first time last weekend (he's been watching lego marvel movies on youtube). He picked out this comic.

When I was into comics (12-15 years old) I always thought the Silver Surfer was kind of lame, but actually reading his origination story for the first time I have to say he is pretty awesome. It was my first time in a comic book store in probably over 10 years; I could have spent the entire day perusing.

tell your son he has awesome taste...Norrin Radd has always been a favourite of mine
there's a certain magic about walking into a comic book store...no matter how old you are, it makes you feel like a kid again

RIP ...this show gave me endless joy as a child

Live-Action Batman TV Series Creator Lorenzo Semple Jr. Has Died

Quote:
Lorenzo Semple Jr. -- best-known as the creator of the 1960s Batman TV series -- has died at the age of 91.

Maria Semple, the late screewriter’s daughter, told The Hollywood Reporter of her father's passing. Semple died in his Los Angeles home.

The creator is responsible for introducing a generation of fans to Batman, with the Adam West incarnation of the character. Responsible for the show’s groovy, pop art style, Semple showed audiences the brighter side of the caped crusader (to much ratings success at the start of the series).

THR mentions that Semple only wrote the show’s first four episodes, but served as a story consultant and developed the show’s “bible” for the writing staff, which noted, “One rule: Batman should never break the law, not even to park in a no-parking zone during a crime-fighting emergency."

The longevity of Semple’s Batman series is visible in pop culture, such as Robin’s “Holy !” catchphrase (first exclaimed by actor Burt Ward). The fan base is still active for the show, evident in DC Comics’ digital-first Batman ’66 comic series and the upcoming (and long-demanded) release of the series on Blu-Ray later this year.

Semple also wrote the screenplays for Fathom (1967), Pretty Poison (1968), Papillon (1973), King Kong (1976), Never Say Never Again (1983) and later brought his camp sensibilities to Flash Gordon (1980) and Sheena (1984). Most recently, Semple appeared on Reel Geezers, an edgy YouTube webseries that had “Hollywood octogenarians bicker as they reviewed movies.”

It’s arguable that Batman would not be around (or nearly as prominent as he is) in today’s culture, if not for Semple’s take on the character.
