Interesting take from NPR on the eisenberg as Luthor bit...

http://www.npr.org/blogs/monkeysee/2...lay-lex-luthor

Quote:
But in this case, even if we assume it makes any sense to draw strong conclusions about casting at this stage, there's a much better case for this particular casting than there is against it.

Lex Luthor, after all, is a smart, diabolical, ice-cold, inhuman, troubled, brilliant, conniving, hateful, maladjusted megalomaniac.

I in no way intend to suggest that Mark Zuckerberg in real life is a smart, diabolical, ice-cold, inhuman, troubled, brilliant, conniving, hateful, maladjusted megalomaniac. But the fictional one Aaron Sorkin wrote for The Social Network? Yes, he was all those things. And Eisenberg killed in that part. The invented movie version of Zuckerberg, in many ways, was Lex Luthor. He was the triumphant schemer, the frustratingly one-step-ahead guy who nobody loves but everybody fears. That doesn't mean that that's exactly what they're going for, but it certainly means there's no way to rule out Eisenberg being a great, Sorkin's-Zuckerberg-y Luthor.

I think he'll do a better job being Lex than HC being Superman and Affleck being Batman. Rosenbaum did a fine job being Lex despite not being big/a little husky. Only issue is the baldness which is iconic for Lex. Other than that I think it's a decent choice as he can fit Lex's personality/character quite well.

i just don't see it...he just doesn't have the physical attributes (and more importantly) the right voice for Lex

when i think of Lex i automatically think of Clancy Brown...imho, his voices epitomizes what Luthor should sound like
even though Eisenberg is 30, he still sounds like a squeaky little kid to me

SO many better choices out there

Jason Isaacs
Mads Mikkelsen
Stanley Tucci
Mark Strong
Billy Zane
Bryan Cranston
Joaquin Phoenix

just to name a few

i wish Eisenberg all the best...but for me, he's a bad/lazy choice

sitting here surfing while waiting for the Super Bowl to start and ran across this excellent fan made pic of Eisenberg as Lex

now this is obviously not his body but i have to admit that with padding in suits etc etc that he looks good

but it's still the squeaky voice that has me worried

almost jumped out of my chair when i saw this headline....awesome

Paul Bettany to Play The Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron

Quote:
It looks like Paul Bettany might very well have an expanded presence in Joss Whedon's upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. England's The Daily Mail first reported and then Variety quickly confirmed that the actor will play android team member The Vision in the May 1, 2015 release.

Bettany is no stranger to Marvel Studios films. He has provided the voice of Tony Stark's computer system, J.A.R.V.I.S. in all three Iron Man films as well as the original Marvel's The Avengers. It seems likely that, as has long been speculated by fans, the sequel will see Stark's program evolve into a fully-fledged A.I. android. Bettany was reportedly spotted at Shepperton Studios for a costume test.

The Vision has been a major part of the team since his debut in "The Avengers" #57 all the way back in 1968. In the comics, the character falls in love with and marries Scarlet Witch, who will be played in the sequel by Elizabeth Olsen.

In addition to quite a few returning Avengers, Age of Ultron will also feature James Spader as the title villain, Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Strucker and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Scarlet Witch's brother, Quicksilver.

Interesting choice
Could be a pretty decent series...from what i understand, they'll be concentrating on the early years of a lot of well known villains...Riddler, Penguin etc etc
If so, count me in

Interesting. Also Bruce Wayne will also appear in it. It's a shame though that Bruce Wayne tv series never happened.

Fox's Batman Prequel 'Gotham' Casts Penguin, Alfred

Gotham casts the roles of The Penguin, Gotham's police captain, Alfred and Gordon's fiance.

I'm curious as to how young they'll make Bruce. Also - wasn't Bruce travelling around the world learning skills during that time as opposed to being in Gotham?

Only in Nolan's films. I'm 99% sure the original orgin had him growing up in Gotham, seeing the city fall apart.

I'd say he'll be pretty young. Early 20's, maybe younger.
