Back in July, Dynamite Entertainment announced J. Michael Straczynski would be writing THE TWILIGHT ZONE, based on the original television show. Today they are ready to announce the interior artist as well as give us a look at some pages.

Guiu Vilanova (DARK SHADOWS) will be joining JMS along with Francesco Francavilla providing art for the covers.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE #1 will be solicited in Diamond Previews November 2013 catalog. Each issue will also be available on digital platforms through comiXology, iVerse and Dark Horse Digital.

A lot of Captain America stuff over the last few days i know...but i wanted to post a suggestion for anyone interested in reading a bit about the "Winter Soldier"
Imho, it's probably one of the top 3 Cap stories ever written (Brubaker is excellent)...and the art from Steve Epting is incredible

Almost every comic book fan already knows who the Winter Soldier is but if your a casual fan then this book is a great way to get introduced to the character...i can't recommend this enough

i dunno - for me so much of what made that story great was the awesome presence of the sentinels.... if they leave them out, i think it is a huge mistake.

i'm a little embarrassed to admit that i've never gotten around to reading what most critics consider to be a masterpiece in storytelling...it was one of the few graphic novels ever to be on the New York Times Best Seller list, along with Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns

The Sandman

the main reason i've never picked it up is because it's 75 issues long and would cost an arm and a leg to read ...(also available in 10 TPBs)
so it was with great interest that i picked up the 1st issue of the new series called The Sandman: Overture...written by the same author (Neil Gaiman) and the pencils are being done by J.H. Williams III
Overture takes place before the original series

gotta say i was blown away by it...the writing is excellent and the pencils and coloring (Dave Stewart) are incredible
the price of the 1st issue ($4.99) was a little steep but i haven't been this excited about a comic since i picked up the 1st issue of Saga...i want more !

highly recommend checking this out !

Alex Ross Coming Back To MARVEL For Special 75th Anniversary Covers

Quote:
Alex Ross is a legend. There’s no arguing that. The artist has been providing covers for various titles the past several years, most notably for Dynamite. It was announced today that the painter would be returning to Marvel in 2014 for a series of variant covers celebrating the publisher’s 75th Anniversary.
The first cover from Ross will be or Avengers #25 by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic. It will be released January 15th. That will be the first of Ross‘ 12 anniversary variants for Marvel, with one presumably gracing the cover of one select book a month.

really disappointed to hear that the 2nd issue of Sandman:Overture has been pushed back to February...

Quote:
Neil Gaiman returned to the world of Sandman in fantastical style with artist J.H. Williams III at the end of October with Sandman: Overture #1. The book was met with praise from fans and critics alike. The miniseries was set to come out every two months with special edition ‘director’s cut’ of the previous issue filling the gaps. The second issue was scheduled to hit in December, but now you’re going to have to wait a little longer to see what happens next.

Bleeding Cool reports that the second issue of the series has been delayed until February of next year. Retailers have been informed of the delayed and all orders for December have been cancelled. The February 2014 DC/Vertigo solictis will be released later today, so we can expect to see the issue resolicited. No reason was given for the delay at this time. Gaiman and Williams had a bit of a head start on the series, but with Gaiman’s complex storytelling style and Williams amazingly detailed art work, something may have taken a little more time. The first issue proves it’s worth the wait though.
