i've been a little worried that this film would look out of place when compared to the other Marvel films because Thor is such a quirky character
but i gotta say...it looks awesome !!

it's been very quiet regarding Batman 3...i've looked around and could find next to nothing
i seem to recall that there was no major info regarding Dark Knight at a previous Comic-Con, but instead there was a press conference a couple of weeks later...so maybe Nolan and WB will do the same this year after Nolan's post Inception vacation
the one persistent rumour that keeps popping up is that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in the running to play the Riddler...and Aaron Eckhart has stated that if Nolan wants him back then he'll be there

as excited as i am about another Batman film, i'm even more interested in the the fact that Nolan is involved in the Superman (The Man of Steel) reboot
rumour has it that while kicking around ideas for the Batman 3 script, David Goyer mentioned to Nolan that he had a great idea for a Superman story and Nolan loved it

here are a couple of quotes from Nolan regarding both films....

Batman 3

“My brother is writing a script for me and we’ll wait to see how it turns out…he’s struggling to put it together into the epic story that you want it to be…Without getting into specifics, the key thing that makes the third film a great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story…And in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story.”
“Viewing it as an ending, that sets you very much on the right track about the appropriate conclusion and the essence of what tale we’re telling. And it hearkens back to that priority of trying to find the reality in these fantastic stories. That’s what we do.”

Superman

“[David] basically told me, ‘I have this thought about how you would approach Superman…I immediately got it, loved it and thought: That is a way of approaching the story I’ve never seen before that makes it incredibly exciting. I wanted to get Emma and I involved in shepherding the project right away and getting it to the studio and getting it going in an exciting way.”
“It’s very exciting, we have a fantastic story…And we feel we can do it right. We know the milieu, if you will, we know the genre and how to get it done right…A lot of people have approached Superman in a lot of different ways. I only know the way that has worked for us…Each [film] serves to the internal logic of the story. They have nothing to do with each other.”

personally...i'm really hoping for a Superman/Brainiac story

wasn't sure where to post this review but since it's directly related to comics i thought i'd throw it in here

Batman: Under The Red Hood

could possibly be the best animated feature from DC so far...Blu-ray picture and sound was outstanding
must mention the soundtrack by Christopher Drake...it's amazing...you could easily substitute some of his work into the Dark Knight movie ..it has that same dark, ominous feel to it
the storyline is based on "Under The Hood" and "A Death In The Family"...i thought Judd Winick (writer) did an excellent job of putting it all together
the voice cast did a great job...took me awhile to adjust to Bruce Greenwood's voice as Batman (much prefer Kevin Conroy) and Jenson Ekles was great as Jason Todd...only problem i had was the voice of the Joker...it's not that John DiMaggio did a bad job of it...it's just that once you've heard Mark Hamill do the Joker you realize that nobody else is even close in comparison
there is also a nice animated short of Jonah Hex in the extras...along with some older animated stories of Batman and Robin

all in all i'd have to give this an 8/10...it's a VERY good animated movie with lots of action ...the only reason i can't give it a higher score is because Hamill and Conroy were not in it
i highly recommend checking it out

I've been encouraging my friends to watch it. Even though they don't follow batman, I'm sure they'd still enjoy it.

ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype has learned that the Marc Webb-directed Untitled Spider-Man Project will start shooting in December in Los Angeles. We've received no word yet whether Sony's Columbia Pictures will also film in New York. Andrew Garfield stars in the July 3, 2012 release, produced by Laura Ziskin and Avi Arad.

The studio's Men in Black III, however, is scheduled for filming in New York starting in September. Barry Sonnenfeld is directing the May 25, 2012 release, starring Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin and Jemaine Clement.

The rumors have been bubbling under for the past few weeks about whether director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) might be called upon to direct Deadpool, the planned spin-off from last year's X-Men Origins: Wolverine with Ryan Reynolds reprising the role of the "Merc with a Mouth" he played in that movie.

oh I can't wait for that Deadpool movie... so glad they are scrapping the direction his character was going in Origins. I'm praying that movie doesn't flop.

YouTube - Deadpool - The best bits from Hulk vs
Deadpool is one of my favourite characters...believe me when i say that i was pissed when i saw what Origins did with him...that was an abomination !...a Deadpool that has his mouth sewn up ???...Blasphemy

comic book series that i highly recommend are Deadpool: Suicide Kings, Deadpool: Merc With A Mouth and Deadpool Secret Invasion
there is also a fantastic series called Cable and Deadpool (7 issues)

fanboys have been freaking out about Robert Rodriguez taking the reins of director...i think he would do a great job because his style fits the character..and when you consider that Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland) are doing the script, i think you have a match made in heaven
and of course you have the PERFECT actor playing the part of Wade Wilson... i can't wait to see Reynolds break the fourth wall, worship Bea Arthur and scoff back a few tacos while he slices everyone up
this movie could seriously rock !

oh and btw...^that Hulk VS animated movie is excellent

Yeah same here! I'm a huge Deadpool fan and I was just pissed about what they did to him for that movie. I refuse to even watch it because of that...

From what I heard Ryan Reynolds did a great job as Wade Wilson though so I look forward to him being Deadpool in the new movie. Him being a Deadpool fan as well is a plus.

Thanks for the recommendations once again Mr. M I'll check 'em out. I've already read "Cable & Deadpool" and I loved it.

EDIT: also wanted to add that I'm excited about the Marvel vs Capcom 3 game... I've seen clips of Deadpool beating his enemies using his own health bar and ultra/super bar

^nice...sounds like something Wade would do

there are a number of comics with Deadpool right now...in fact the market is saturated with them (too many imho)
2 series that i recommend to stay away from...
Deadpool Team Up...MEH
Deadpool Corps....haven't read it because it just looks awful

Deadpool: Wade Wilson's War is good and the actual Deadpool series is very good
there is also a new series (four issue miniseries) coming out in Sept called Deadpool Pulp that i'm really looking forward to

a new statue from Kotobukiya is coming out in Nov? (not sure of date)...keeping my eye on it because i'll probably end up adding it to my collection

Talking to the Toronto Sun, Cowboys & Aliens stars Adam Beach and Olivia Wilde revealed that Wilde has a scene in which she is nude in the film.

"We just finished shooting Olivia Wilde naked in front of a bonfire in front of 500 Apache warriors," Beach said. "That was beautiful. You won't get to see what I saw, but you'll get a glimpse."
