Not EXACTLY comic book news, but close enough I think...

Two new Matrix movies! Hopefully a bit of redemption

I really liked Matrix 1 and 2. 3 wasn't on par in my opinion, but two new movies would be great.

well today is the day that the Fantastic Four are no more...someone will die in today's issue...#587 (available a day earlier than normal)
how long that character remains dead is another story altogether ...but from what i've been reading lately it sounds like Jonathan Hickman plans on keeping the character dead
looking forward to reading this historic issue tomorrow

and here's your buyer's guide for Jan 26th...

The matrix Trilogy remains one of my favs.
The first one blew your mind and the other two just added to the mythology of the world it created.
It was hard to top the mind blowing first installment. Anyone who is disapointed by the other two installments were probally expecting the same level of mystery.

and i of course was wrong...again
but i think this whole "death" scenario won't last long...Hickman has actually left it wide open for a return of the character
in fact i give it about 6 months and the character will return in the upcoming Fear Itself storyline

i've been reading good things about the Deadpool Max series so i decided to pick up all 4 of the issues out now (#4 was released last week) at my local comic book store...and am i ever glad i did
this is a funny, moving, stupid, insane, ridiculous, ludicrous, messed up, crude, lewd, childish, over-the-top and weird comic series...in other words, perfectly suited for Deadpool
the writing from Dave Lapham is excellent and the artwork from Kyle Baker is twisted and quirky

this is a great series and i highly recommend checking it out

must admit i know very little about the Goon series....but after looking around i think i might try to check it out...looks good

btw...you have probably seen this footage but thought i'd post it anyway

Quote:
The new footage is a longer clip created by Blur Studios to showcase the project, which is based on Eric Powell's celebrated Dark Horse Comics series and produced by award-winning filmmaker David Fincher. "The Goon" team is looking for a studio to snatch up the project and finance production, and after seeing the footage here it probably won't be long until that happens.
the Goon is voiced by Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti is Franky
this is freakin hilarious

Heard about this, and it is what peaked my interest in the series.

Casting rumors keep trickling in for "The Dark Knight Rises," the upcoming third film in Christopher Nolan's Batman series. On Saturday, unconfirmed reports surfaced that Robin Williams may be the man for the role of Dr. Hugo Strange.

While no plot details have been officially released, many insiders have suggested that in the film, psychotic psychologist Dr. Strange will be tapped by the Gotham police forces to help track and capture Batman (Christian Bale).

Williams was up for roles in previous Batman films in the 1990s, but never accepted the offers. However, last summer he told reporters that he'd love to work in Nolan's Batman universe. "I would do Batman in a second," he said. "I'd play The Riddler in the next one, although it would be hard to top Heath Ledger as the villain and I'm a little hairy for tights."
