So far ive really liked it, ready about 1/8 into it. Planning on getting the rest in the series.
really enjoyed this storyline...nice choice
there are actually 4 graphic novels to the series...but a lot of people are not aware of the fact that there is also a "prelude" TPB for the series as well so you might want to check that out before you go any farther into the story

since you picked an X-Men storyline, i'd like to make a suggestion for your next go-round

X-Men: Age of Apocalypse

comes in 4 TPB's...an amazing read...i highly recommend it

book 1

book2

book 3

book 4

Just curious, any chance you were in the paperback exchange in scarborough....you described it perfectly.

The book looked cool, and it was on the "staff picks" rack. Im almost done and looknig forward to getting the rest, but these things are expensive. And thanks for the recomendation. But i think in 6 months once i finally buy and read the rest of the series, ill look into other comics. Alot of books there peaked my interest but since there was no one in the basement comic room with me, i didn't really know where to start.

Beginning January 2011, DC Comics will implement a line-wide pricing adjustment, lowering the prices of all standard length 32-page ongoing comic book titles currently priced at $3.99 to $2.99.

"This announcement reaffirms DC Comics' commitment to both our core fans and to comic book store retailers," said Jim Lee, DC Comics Co-Publisher. "For the long term health of the industry, we are willing to take a financial risk so that readers who love our medium do not abandon the art form."

"As Co-Publishers, we listened to our fans and to our partners in the retail community who told us that a $3.99 price point for 32 pages was too expensive. Fans were becoming increasingly reluctant to sample new titles and long term fans were beginning to abandon titles and characters that they'd collected for years," said Dan DiDio, DC Comics Co-Publisher. "We needed a progressive pricing strategy that supports our existing business model and, more importantly, allows this creative industry to thrive for years to come. With the exceptions of oversized comic books, like annuals and specials, we are committed to a $2.99 price point."

found a site the other day that i thought would prove helpful to anyone who was interested in getting started with comics but didn't know where to find them in their area
this site provides addresses for comic book stores in Canada, the States and even Internationally
i can't guarantee that all these stores are still up and running, but it will at least give a lot of people a place to start in their particular area

The Master List

both of those Superman books are great

loved Batman Hush...it's probably my favourite (Batman) story of alltime..particularly the artwork...the combination of Jim Lee (penciller), Scott Williams (inker) and Alex Sinclair (colorist) is outstanding
doesn't hurt to have Jeph Loeb as the writer either
Hush comes in 2 volumes with a so-so 3rd volume called Hush Returns
enjoy...1 & 2 are fantastic

speaking of Batman...

i've been putting off reading the new series by Morrison called Batman & Robin...there was just something about a Batman that wasn't Bruce Wayne that didn't sit well with me...because the reviews have been so consistently good, i decided to pick up both HC's and comics to read...and am i ever glad i did...this is an excellent storyline...the new Robin (Damian Wayne) is a great character..he's unlike any other Robin i've ever read...he'd rather break your skull open with a crowbar than talk during an interrogation

Batman & Robin Vol 1 (Batman Reborn) covers issues 1-6

Batman & Robin Vol 2 (Batman Vs Robin) covers issues 7-12

Volume 3: Batman Must Die is due out in May and covers issues 13-16...but it's fairly easy to find these single issues in your local comic book store...the series is currently at #18 and #19 is scheduled to be released next week (Jan 12th)

i highly recommend reading this great storyline
