An Iron Fist film is moving into the scripting stage, says a report at Deadline.

Marvel Studios has brought aboard Rich Wilkes (the "XXX" film series) to write the screenplay, which will adapt the story of Danny Rand, the Marvel martial arts superhero created in the 1970's.

James Wan has signed on to direct Nightfall for Platinum Studios, reports Deadline.

The original graphic novel was created by Scott O. Brown and Ferran Xalabarder. It was published by Platinum's comic book imprint in 2007 and deals with a conservative Texan, David Paxton, who winds up in a prison run by vampires.

think it's too late for Ray Park to play the part of Danny Rand ?....i would love to see him do it...either him or Scott Adkins

The End Of The Fantastic Four ?

Link

During a conference call about Steve Epting's arrival, the upcoming "Three" storyline and Doctor Doom's "re-introduction" to the Marvel Universe, Marvel Executive Editor Tom Brevoort revealed a very important detail... the Fantastic Four series will be ending.
We don't have a precise issue or reasoning, but when asked if the Fantastic Four title would even exist this time next year given the "Three" arc and the "return" of Doom to the series, Brevoort simply said, "No... no there will not. I'll put that out there! No there will not." Brevoort refused to elaborate further. It is interesting to note that one year from now would put the series around issue #593, just a few issues shy of the big #600. Would Marvel stop the series of that landmark just to relaunch and revert back? Will issue #600 be the final issue before some sort of franchise shift?
Another interesting detail that came up during the press meeting was that the "Three" arc won't necessarily leave the Fantastic Four one member down. Though someone will leave the team, Brevoort mentioned it would be "tough" to publish a book called "Fantastic Four" without four people on the team. Repeatedly the "Three" arc, with its elimination of one member of the family, was compared to Ed Brubaker's resurrection of Bucky Barnes in the pages of Captain America many years back. But like Brubaker's move, Brevoort and Hickman stressed that this storyline has been under development for a while and will have an impact on the series and its universe.
Naturally these types of changes are met with great skepticism - they happen quite often. "The cynicism is perfectly acceptable," Hickman said when asked about his reaction to that sort of fan opinion. "If you look around at the stories being told I think a lot of things are for shock value. I, however, would never have made the proposal that I did if I didn't have a story to tell that I felt was meaningful and important, one that had a logical conclusion that also felt like escapism, that people believed the story. It's certainly going to happen. It certainly has a point. It certainly has ramifications and it's certainly going to change things. I think it's going to work for the betterment of the book. I'm very excited by it and I think it's relevant to the stories we're telling today."
During the call, FF writer Jonathan Hickman mentioned that all of these storylines were part of his larger master plan, one that has been in place since he started working on the series about a year back. Fans of Hickman are used to this - his Secret Warriors series is densely layered with details that pay off many months later, and the writer has even revealed some of his intricate plans as backup material.
Hickman's editor certainly echoed the sentiment about his writer being a long-term planner. "Jonathan tends to think long-form. When he says he has a master plan... there are notebooks and diagrams and it's like a one-man Al Qaeda cell of storytelling," joked Brevoort.

"Well that's the quote right there," laughed Hickman in reaction.

"I think sometimes it's difficult for readers to see from the vantage point of one issue," Brevoort added, regarding reaction to Hickman's style. "In fairness, hopefully, readers can start to jump in with Steve's first issue, #583, not having read the year that came before and get on board and come along. That being said, people who have been following along are going to get a richer experience out of it. There haven't been any throwaways. Everything has been very deliberately building on what's come before. 'Three' is where everything hits the fan. This is the worst week in the lives of the Fantastic Four. The house of cards begins to fall down on the characters, such that where we had four of them, now we're only going to have three of them."
And what of Doctor Doom? What's this talk about "re-introducing" a villain that has been all over the pages of Marvel Comics for quite some time? "'Three' is really Doom's introduction back into the book. We see him in issue #583, which is really the prelude to the 'Three' story, and we see him in the last issue. But it's really his introduction and place [in the series] and we are implying what his role is going forward. Then coming out of all the craziness that is 'Three' it's time for Doom. It's midnight. It's all of that stuff."

was just going over some articles in the FanExpo link and discovered that a certain item was recently sold at Bonhams (one of the world’s oldest and largest auctioneers of fine art and antiques)
out of my financial capabilities obviously, but i would have loved to have this in my "office"....it would be just too freakin cool to own it

it sold for 10,800 GBP... 17,638.66 CAD

on the advice from a buddy of mine, i recently picked up the Thanos Imperative storyline...and i have to say it's excellent
it's a 6 issue limited series that began with the "one-shot" called Ignition...i highly recommend it

and while i'm talking about the "Cosmic" department of Marvel, i'd also like to recommend another series called Annihilation (3 TPB's) and Annihilation: Conquest (2 TPB's)
it's a brilliant storyline that's sort of half Sci-fi half superhero....it centers around a lot of under-used "space" characters of the Marvel U....Annihilus,Nova, Galactus, Silver Surfer, Super-Skrull, Ravenous, Quasar, Ronan the Accuser, Drax the Destroyer, Thanos, Firelord, Gamora, Phyla-Vell, Moondragon and Star-Lord are just some of the characters

i can't recommend this storyline enough

that's a lot of reading but there are also some spin-off series from this storyline as well

Annihilation: Silver Surfer
Annihilation: Super-Skrull
Annihilation: Nova
Annihilation: Ronan
and a limited prelude called Drax the Destroyer:Earth Fall
