Are you planning on going alone? Shouldn't this be asked to the people you plan on ging out with, you don't have friends that have favorite bars to go to? Ask them where they want to go. I swear, i don't know why you start threads like this anymore.

you realize that my closest friends are just turning of age and that we don't go to bars often right? we're just entering that essence of toronto, and I was looking for some discussion. is there something wrong in that?

just like how we had a food thread and it's mainly about great restaurants in and around the city?

Normally, pzabs, these are fairly innocent questions. I think you've just used up most of your good will, so people don't give you the benefit of the doubt anymore. I'd answer them if I could. But, when I lived in Ontario, I spent little time in Toronto bars.

Yeah, I tried and I can't even remember the names of the 4 or 5 bars/clubs I've checked out. I can't remember the names of the bars I visited in Ottawa either. I can only remember the names of a few places in Hamilton and Waterlool/Kitchener but that's it.

For what it's worth, one of the better clubs i've been to in Toronto is called This is London. It's a pretty loud club, kind of upscale (dress code) but pretty good. In all honesty i moved to Toronto when i was around 30 when i was sick of the club scene and never go to clubs anymore and i stay the fuck out of the downtown club stuff. I'm more of a pub guy now and even then, usually can't be bothered. lol

As for what i drink:

Beer- Stella Artois, Sleeman's honey brown, Alexander Keith's, Heineken, Guiness (very occasionally), i've tried many others but too many to keep going.

Other drinks- Tequilla, Rye and ginger, Rum and coke, Tom Collins (when i was a kid thinking this was a cool drink ), Daquiries & Margarita's (yeah, girly drinks....lol).

^ Pretty basic and tbh i barely drink these days so it's what i remember. I can't begin to remember all the different shots i've thrown down my gullet. lol

I also enjoy wine once in a while, mostly red.

Anyone remember Red Bull beer? Or Wink and Gin or Vodka (can't remember which). The first booze i ever had i was 13 in grade 9 before a HS dance me and some friends shared a bottle of JD.......straight. God awful shit, especially at that age.

also mill street brewery in distillery district is a very nice place
if you are going mainly for a beer you should check out The Rhino on queenstreet W huge selection of beers from around the world, i like it better than the beer market.
