Default Fight between pro wrestler Chris Jericho and fans sparks debate

Here's another double-standard story, took place in my town:

Fight between pro wrestler Chris Jericho and fans sparks debate

VICTORIA — A firestorm of online debate has erupted after an altercation between pro wrestler Chris Jericho and several fans following a World Wrestling Entertainment event Saturday.

A video posted on YouTube shows Jericho involved in a shouting match with two fans outside the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria after the RAW Live WWE match.

It started when a mob of fans stopped Jericho from leaving the area around the arena.

It ended with Jericho hitting one woman in the face and pushing others before he finally drove off.

What exactly happened in between varies widely from witness accounts, some saying the woman spit on Jericho, others saying he spit back.

More than 30,000 people had watched the YouTube video Monday.

Details of the incident were also splashed across the Internet by celebrity gossip sites such as TMZ.com, various pro-wrestling forums and sports bloggers.

Strong opinions raged online, some saying Jericho lost his temper when he hit the woman, even though she was shoving him repeatedly.

Others think Jericho’s actions were justified, after fans swore at him, gave him the middle finger and banged on his car window. Many said, regardless of the sex of the person, he was just defending himself from an abusive fan.

The WWE said Jericho was physically and verbally assaulted after his car was attacked by a mob.

Victoria police have interviewed Jericho, watched the videos, and continue to talk to witnesses, said spokesman Sgt. Grant Hamilton.

Several witnesses have also fiercely criticized International Crowd Management’s security guards for failing to prevent the group of people from swarming Jericho’s car.

Have you ever attended a WWE match? It's complete jokes - Some of those fans really get into it. I remember I went about 5 years ago, I ended up parking at Yorkdale and took the TTC down - fans were on the TTC saying they would have done this and that to certain wrestlers - and they totally believe it.

One of my best friends who i have mentioned works rapotrs/leafs games also does WWE when it comes to the ACC. He says WWE fans are the crazyiest and many believe this crap is real. A funny true story, he was filming a meet n greet with HHH, you know the regular, autographs and they told kids you could ask him one question, since the lineup was long. Well, he was filming some of the lineup and ppl were freaking out, but this one dad was like "I drove all the way from Newfoundland so my boy could meet our hero, Triple H", well fastforward to when that same Dad and his son get to the front of the line. Triple H signs their magazines and they are stoked, then he turns to the kid and asks him if he has one question for him..... no lie, the kid asks "What does Triple H stand for???"......... the look on his dads face is so priceless, fuming hahahahahha, Triple H is just like "Hunter Herst Helmsley" and they shuffle the kid and his dad on. His dad prob gave him alot of shit, but i think it was hilarious, it's an outtake they never used, hopefully my bud still has it, maybe we could post it discreetly somewhere.
