Fibe TV?

I'm moving in under a month and i'm starting to think about what to do with my TV/internet providers. I was looking at Bell's website and apparently they have a new TV service called Fibe TV which i checked IS available in my new area. I understand it's TV through an internet signal.

Strangely i didn't see any pricing information or how it differed from their satalite costs on the website.

Anyone have or know much about this Fibe TV thing?

I'm thinking Rogers isn't going to be much of an option for me. I get Bell TV now, and having looked at Rogers pricing, their TV options are just too expensive. I'll probably stick with Bell when i move, but this Fibe thing has me intrigued.

All I know from my last experience on the bell website is that they are full of shit.

All their products are (were?) listed are the additional cost if you got them bundled with a home phone.

I looked into fibe tv at the time as well (January of this year) and it was listed as available on their website. I called and it was, in fact, not available.

If you want any resembling the truth you have to call.

ya fair enough. The website doesn't even show FIbe pricing so i'm pretty confused. I gather i'll have to up my internet speed to get the TV service also. Starting to think it's better to stick with satellite.

really low and deceitful marketing by bell.

it's not FTTH, no matter how much the name sounds like it.

tsk tsk.

It's fibre to the node, and then DSL. I got in on FIBE TV when I was the first person in my condo to do so....IT WAS AWSOME.

As soon as other signed up, it got shit fast.

I absolutely hate the TV interface and lack of any quality on Demand programming.

I have since moved, and gave FIBE a shot at my new place. The TV sucked worse as they have a habit of periodically deleting PVR's.

Internet is still good, so now I have Rogers TV and Bell internet. I think I am as happy as I can be in this country.

It's a good set-up because FIbe uses IP for everything, so if you are downloading a torrent and watching a HD program, something has to give as there isnt enough bandwidth.

thanks Benzo.

Same here. Love this setup. Bell offers some awesome internet service and Rogers has amazing TV service. Best of both worlds :D

I have Rogers everything, so I'm happy enough. Never had a problem with them personally, but I deal with rogers reps all the time for cell phones mostly.
