Default Favre Retires :(

Sad day for me, my fav athlete in any sport retires Glad he went out on his own terms after a very good year tho, but the NFL and especially the packers will never be the same, the end of the old school great QB era is official now, Marino, Aikman, Young, Elway and now Brett.

Never a classier player, tougher or more fun to watch, just a gunslinger who always played like he was fresh outta college and never half assed a play in his life, a real role model for kids, especially how he so honestly admitted his painkiller addiction and all the family pain he went thru the last few years with his wifes cancer and brothers death.

Your a living legend Brett, we will miss you and you deserve some time with your family to reflect a remarkable career

One of the greatest quarterbacks and he'll definitely be missed. Not to mention leave a gaping hole at the QB spot in Green Bay.

At least he went out on a high with an amazing season and didn't play out his career as just a mediocre player. For that I commend him.

The guy is a legend. I'm not a Packers fan at all, but I can appreciate what he did on the field. He started every game, even when his father passed away, when he was injured. He was an icon. He left it out on the field. Warrior. That's all I can say. I'm glad I got the chance to see him live.

that is one guy that i would like to shake hands with - and i cant say that about most athletes.
he is one of the best QB's of all time, and a man's man. tough as nails, competitor, and very likeable. a true leader in every definition of the word.

my dad told me that in his first few months in the NFL (i think he came on for 5 - 10 snaps as a sub) the commentators called him brett favour.

hehe they pronounced him name wrong on draft day. He was a notorious party animal in atlanta and got shipped to GB for a 2nd round pick... talk about one of the biggest swindles of all time, i wonder what GB saw in him.

I think alot of ppl relate to and love Brett cuz he doesnt have that holier then thou attitude so common in 2days athletes. He is very honest in interviews and didnt hide his inner demons from the public so hopefully kids looking up to him dont make the same mistakes.

I went to the "American Bowl" in Skydome many years GB vs Buffalo, still have the stubs somewhere, i also saw him play in Buffalo in a reg season game a few years back. He will be some1 i will tell my kids about, how to do things the right way, play hard but fair and leave it on the field, damn ive never been this sad about an athlete retiring.. i just cant think of some1 that can fill the void atm

As a Packers fan. Yesterday was a sad day for me. But I also respect his decision, and even though he couldn't finish off his career like Elway did, he pushed a team that low expectations, to a team that was a few quarters away from the Super Bowl. He'll be missed.

Now, let's see what Aaron Rodgers can do.

Yea both will go down as 2 of the greatest that ever did it. Both play with crazy intensity and competitive spirit. And both are winners
