It's sad to think that this idiot could have resulted in a person's death. 2 weeks...

So much of daily life in the US is about confrontations. I agree with fancy. Just drop the shit about wanting to sue and being all assertive rather than being clear and concise.

stupid girl could have cost her dads life. now granted, shes younger and all but theres no need to act that way on the phone.

The dispatcher was a dick too and should be disciplined. Im sure these guys deal with people swearing and cussing all the time when they call 911 but you should be trained to work through it and gather as much information as you can and deal with the dickheads later on.

Now if he had another 911 call and this chick was being stupid then perhaps it was a good idea to hang up..but when someones calling back a second or third time, clue in!

i didnt realize calling the police was a paying job... how is one supposed to act? not all people (especially teenagers) know how to handle themselves in an emergency situation.
he on the other hand is paid to deal with those situations - answer the call and assist, not lecture someone on swearing.

if im calling 911 and it takes 5 rings, im yelling 'what the fuck' too... and if the first thing the dispatcher says to me is to watch my language, i would tell him to fuck off and just help me - in other words, do his job.
then he hangs up on me 3 times in a row, i'd threaten to sue him too.
she's freaking out, her dad is on the ground, im sure her head is flipping... i dont blame her for swearing and getting out of control.

a-ha!
so you agree with me in that she didn't handle herself properly in an emergency situation.

I don't blame her for saying "WTF" when the phone rang five times. my problem is that she kept on swearing when she called back and not ONCE did she even try to explain the seriousness of the situation over the phone or even when she went over to the police. She never said "my father is having a seizure" or "my father looks like he's dying". No... she only continued to bark out commands like some bossy, attitude ridden little bitch.

and then to go to the station and threaten the police with a lawsuit... all the while her dad STILL needed medical attention. For fuck's sake, where are her priorities??

The cop was clearly in the wrong... but she was pretty inept too. She was being just as standof-fish.

clearly that town is a breeding ground for moron tough guys and girls.

Emergency response should be run by the book, regardless. This is such a huge part of their operating procedure. There's really no room for debate on this whatsoever.

nobody is debating that the cop was out of line. He certainly was.

I'm just saying that the girl didn't handle herself well, in light of the bigger picture.

she's an idiot - we all know that.
i didnt like how she tried to come accross as an innocent angel in the story, because she is far from that.... she's probably a grade A bitch.

but, she isnt a police officer, she isnt paid to help people and deal with emergency situations... he is.

this is where a lot of cops differ form regular folk; they dont see things the way regular people do. they are so used to being feared and respected and are so power hungry because of it.
when they feel they are being disrespected - they get all power trippy on people and the have to show their authority no matter what.
that explains why he hung up on her multiple times and then arrested her afterwards.

unfortunately, a lot of cops have such a ridiculous self image of being powerful and above the law, that they dont understand how to deal with people who disrespect them or dont abide by their rules.
its a shame... i actually think police officers should take courses on humanity and empathy every 5 years or so. alot of them are so cut off from 'real world thinking' and compassion, because they are so used to being an authority figure they dont know how to react when people disrespect them or dont give in to their rules.

dont get me wrong, i am not anti police... in fact all of my best friends are police officers... this is just my assessment from the outside looking in, and vice versa.

insider, you're absolutely right.

This whole situation is kind of funny... because it meant to bring bad light onto the cop. and it certainly did, that cop was a cunt and a half, and in all honesty doesn't deserve his job.

but in all fairness, the girl didn't come off looking golden either. she sucks too!

When she calls back and sais

"are you going to send me that ambulance!"

instead of

"my dad is shaking uncontrollably on the floor, please help me!"

she loses all sympathy from me.

But it isn't about her, it's about the poor dude who fell.

The entire conflict reminds me of a hearts game on Yahoo.
