Default Don Wittman passes away at 71

Just a shame, but Don passed away yesterday after battling cancer for the last couple months.

I can't say he was one of my favourite commentators, but I loved listening to him during the various Olympics he called. His call of Donovan Bailey winning gold and breaking the world record in the 100m still gives me shivers down my spine.

RIP Don.

Did he not also call the Micheal Johnson/Bailey race on CBC or is that my imagination?

I want to say that race was televised on CTV, but I could be wrong.

No, I don't believe Don called this one. Unless this was another feed all together.

This was the Don Wittman call that still gives me those shivers that I spoke of.

I remember him calling the CFL West games. Oh, we're gonna miss that voice.
