does anyone have monster dre beats

preferably the solo HD's. my dad has links and says i can get them for 50% off regular. i was thinking the solo HD's but do they suck in comparison to the studios? if so i may just get the studios. i dont really know the difference except that studios cost more and use batteries.

I own the solos. Got them for cheap in the summer and i'm not an audiophile or anything but their lightweight and comfortable for a pretty long time, a little heavy on bass though.

do they have a mute button?

the studios cost alot more and i would like to know the differences.

Solo HD is for very close listening and the sound is balanced. The studios have very heavy bass compared to the solo's.

If I wear the solos, will it block out surrounding noise? I listen to music very quietly. About 1/4 of the iPod volume bar. I am mainly using it to block out outside noise because I travel a lot.

I feel so old. Are you guys talking about headphones?

The solos aren't the best at blocking out noise. The studios will nearly block out everything when you have the volume above 30%. On the solos you will need to have the volume like around 60%-80% to block out outside noise. You might want to look into some sennheiser headphones. They are good value for what you get.

One of my roommates has the Studio's and another roommate has the Tour ear buds. Honestly, both of them are amazing in terms of volume, bass, and especially quality. Tour's cost about $200 while the Studio's cost about $400. Solo's I think are about $250...the HD ones are probably closer to $300.

You said you travel a lot and you want noise-cancellation...go with the Tour's. They're so portable (obviously), they have a wire that does not tangle, great quality material, great quality sound, the noise cancellation is better than any ear buds I have used before. The Studio's are obviously better in terms of bass and volume...but since you listen to music fairly quietly, the Tour's, and its great noise-cancellation, would be more than adequate for you bro especially if you can get em for $100 with your discount!

My roommate who got the tours last week...he has been obsessing over them for a while, and hes even more obsessed since he got them lol (he paid the full 200). He also uses them to listen to music at low-moderate volume and the noise cancellation makes it that much better.

I thought the solos were 230 . So the solos don't have sound isolation without blasting music? Lol bummer

lol...was thinking the same thing when i looked at thread

checked the official website and had to laugh...showed all these "celebrities" wearing their product ..but absolutely no info when it came to specs

do yourself a favour and compare first...i would suggest looking at Bose and Shure as well
i wear the Bose in ear earphones...excellent and about $90 cheaper than the ones you are looking at (Tour)
noise reduction is very good as well
don't follow the hype, be smart and window shop first to compare

im looking at the solos. i have a 50% off them so i thought 100 bucks would be alright for the headphones that match my age group. i dont mind bose headphones but they dont look as fresh yaknow. anyway since the solos require me to blast my music to shut out surrounding noise, i might just get a bose or shure. the studios have the sound isolation but are overpriced and not that great sound quality.

get sennheiser headphones. i would recommend the cx300s. I have the sennheiser mm50s which is the cx300s but with a mic. but beware of fakes!!!!!!!!!! If you see them for like $10 or less they are probably fakes.

lol their better then the shitty apple headphones, that's for sure lol

but yea like you said the headphones don't really keep in the music, if you listen to loud music, people beside you will probably hear the music pretty clearly as well which kinda sucks.

And when you asked about the mute button, the wire does have an attached remote for the iphone and itouch which has + and - for sound volume and a stop button in the middle which kinda helps too

One thing I like about them is how u can fold them and put them in this little travel bag that comes with the headphones, really helps with portability, put it in the pouch and kept it in my laptop bags on trips. And apparently the headphones broke easily with earlier models but everything's taken care of now.

th3answ3r 10-17-2010 08:25 PM

Idc about the sound leak, I care about noise cancellation but apparently that isn't evident so I'm less likely to get it.
