Actually I just liked Bane because of that, not because he killed Batman. I think it would make for some good scenes between Bane and Batman as far as fight sequences, mabey he could be an added villain like Spiderman 3 with Venom and Sandman. |

![]() I could care less about fight sequences, the Joker is not a fighter, nor were any of the other villains really. Give me deep psychological torture, something that Bruce Wayne is susceptible to due to his background (the death of his parents), that's how you defeat Batman. Not through raw strength. Mark my words, if Bane ever makes an appearance I will view this entire franchise as a farce.

![]() Spoiler
Dent won't be back. Other than the fact that it'd be dumb, in the official script it says like "Dent lies on the ground, at the bottom of the hole. His neck is broken. Dead." I've heard a lot of rumours about the Riddler in the next one... the fact that Coleman knows who Batman is would partly set that up. My choice would be Mr. Freeze. What better way to erase the stench of the ridiculousness of Batman and Robin than to correct and legitimize the villain that movie made a joke, who had one of the strongest backstories in the original series, and the wife storyline would be easy and would tie into Bruce's pain with the Rachel thing. And it'd fit into Nolan's world if you just got rid of the suit... make him kill people with a nitrogon oxide tank or something. They took liberties by making Joker just wear makeup instead of falling into chemicals, I'm sure they'd have no problem with it. I also think they should include Robin. He's essential to the Batman series and has been there from the beginning. And again... correcting the joke Schumacher made of him. Don't use the red tights, just make him a character named Dick who works in cahoots with Batman to avenge his family's death by the Joker or something like that, and then maybe create the name Robin and a rudimentary red suit at the end. The third film will also have the introduction of the batmobile and batcave, as set up by this one, concluding the Batman origin Batman Begins created, so it'd fit to include the introduction of Robin too. Also, I do like the idea of a "Mr. Freeze" because of his backstory moreso than anything else. However, I've never really enjoyed Robin, even if has been central he's been a character that has always bugged me, but that's my personal opinion. Last edited by Claudius; 07-24-2008 at 09:53 AM. |

![]() There was an interview that he did with ... EW, I *thin* it was ... where he said that he would not be a part of any Batman movie that had Robin in it. I can try to look for the link.

![]() watched the movie last night.
I liked it, gonna give it a 8.25/10 It was too long for my liking, the ass got tired sitting on that seat. Lots of decent action in the movie, some nice effects with the half burnt face...pretty cool....I liked the job heath did on the joker. Think he played the part really well. Would love to see a batman and robin movie though...throw in some catwoman and its all game! |

![]() No robin or Mr freeze please. The next one should be the catwoman, very dark character, and if there is one obvious weakness that bruce has, it's women.

![]() Alright so I finally watched Batman last night. And I just have one question.
What the hell was the storyline of the movie? Was anyone else completely lost when they watched the movie? Cause I sure was. Other than that, great movie, Heath Ledger is my idol and the fact that he died in real life just made the movie so much better. But he played the joker AMAZING and I don't think any other actor could have topped his performance. Well done ![]() |

![]() just found this little tidbit
From the “Batman Returns” wikipedia: The studio desperately wanted Robin to appear in the film. He was originally supposed to appear in the original film, though Burton and Hamm convinced Warner Bros. otherwise. Waters found writing the character very hard, because “Tim and I personally hate him, he’s just the most worthless character in the world, especially with Tim’s conception of Batman as the loner of loners.”[2] Waters had visioned Robin as the leader of a street gang, though before he was written as an African American, to which he forms a “hard-edged” relationship with Batman.[2]Batmobile after Penguin wrecks it. Waters quoted that the costume was to be “an old-fashioned garage mechanic uniform and it just has an ‘R’ on it.”[2] There was also to be a scene where he drives the Batmobile in the same manner he does in Waters and Burton argued that there were too many characters in the script and then visioned another version of the character. He was then written as an intelligent African-American working in an autoshop garage. He was to supposedly fix the Batman Forever, which Waters feels, “they [the writers of Batman Forever] ripped me off! They didn’t even give me free popcorn for that!”[2]Marlon Wayans was cast in the role and was even paid with a contract of two films. He was initially cast in the role for Batman Forever but Wayans later said, “They decided they wanted somebody white,” which would turn out to be Chris O’Donnell. Wayans was paid for both films without having to do any acting. |
