Default Computer help! Rogers sucks

Question for you computer nerds. I cancelled rogers and am going with Bell now. Problem - ever since my rogers was disconnected, anytime i go to google (my homepage) i get redirected to some lame ass rogers technical page. Rogers spam has infected my computer! WTF!

Has this happened to anyone before and can you tell me how to get rid of this constant webpage redirection?

thanks y'all.

Rogers sucks, but Bell is no better. We were given new Blackberry curve's at work this week through Bell and they shipped the phones to us and they had all the wrong codes on the wrong phones and it took almost 2 hours on the phone with them, for them to finally get it right. Plus Rogers is way better for cell phones (coverage) anyway. I've had problems with Bell in the past when i used to have my cell with them and vowed i'd never go back to them. Don't know about their internet service??

We've had Shaw for about 10 years now and it's great. We used to have Rogers before 2000 but it was shit and it no longer even offers internet here in BC. Also, all of the Rogers Video store's here went out of business because of Blockbuster. Now all Rogers has here is there communications. The only time I liked Rogers was in the late 90's when it was easy to hack there digital black boxes and rig them to get unlimited ppv and movie channels.

lol. tell me about it. The installing technician was at my place for like an hour and a half trying to set up the internet. I honestly think he knew about as much as i did. I actually helped him get over the one problem that was holding it up for so long.

Then the TV guy showed up at 2:44pm even though my appointment was from 8:00-12:00. Why don't they just have the same technician do both jobs?

I think they outsource, so they have two different companies for each area.

If you ever decide to canel, make sure you write everything down because they made it near impossible for us to leave and it ended up costing us an extra $300.00-$400.00 as they conveniently had no record of our two requests to cancel both services.

Oh i've already developed the habit of keeping confirmation #'s of phone calls and names of every single person i speak over the phone with when it comes to these things. I do this with any business i deal with. rogers, bell, Hydro. everything.

The kicker was last week i was supposed to have my services installed and no one showed up. They then told me that my file didn't even have an appointment that day.... so i asked to be tranferred to various a manager or supervisor and wouldn't let them off the hook until i got what i wanted.

If ever people think they're being genuinely screwed with these companies, i always recommend speaking to managers / supervisors. and then if they can't help ask to speak to their supervisors. These things shouldn't be so complicated, but sometimes you just have to be stern.

We actually had record of both attempts to cancel, so as a tolken of goodwill they gave us an $80.00 credit to their crappy company that we'll never do business with again.

i'd say the same thing about Rogers. This is just one of those things.... damned if you do, damned if you don't.

although i think it's safe to say BOTH companies suck.

Although Rogers was way more expensive comparatively.

See in the Ottawa region Bell is alot more expensive at least for us. By us switching to Rogers I'm saving close to 45 bucks per month. Plus I've never had issues with Rogers outside of the whole TSN2 debacle.

i agree with Doc; Bell is horrible.
Rogers is overpriced and there support people pretty much have no clue what they are doing - but at least english isnt their second language and if you ever have an issue, you can just escalate to a manager.
And almost everytime i've called - i've had a polite rep to talk to and they take care of my problem (eventually).

Bell's support people are horrendous....
at least Rogers' people at least pretend to care. Bell's reps dont give a shit and even hang up on you when you push them. i've been hung up on twice by some fools and it drove me absolutely furious... when i told a manager he just said it must of been a bad connection. fucking liars.
Bell sucks monkey nuts and theres no way im putting a stupid satellite on my balcony.

I've been a Rogers guy since the beginning. I'm OK with it.

However, their Online free software is GARBAGE. They have Norton and all these "monitoring" proggys and firewalls that clog the hell out of the service.

If a buddy is having Internet problems and has "Rogers Help Programs" on their 'puter. a simple uninstall solves the problem 9 outta 10 times.

Rogers has been solid as a rock for me. ZERO service interruptions in 3 years. I had Bell for 7 years before that and it was down ~30 times over that stretch.

Also, Rogers sent a guy out to install service (old house we moved into that never had it) and the guy spent the whole day there - no charge. Bell wanted to charge a fortune for it.
