Cloverfield

I went opening night to see what all the hype was about. In case you haven't heard of Cloverfield, it's a Godzilla type movie filmed in the style of Blair Witch Project.

I thought the movie was pretty well done, kept you on the edge of your seat straining for glimpses of the monster, and it definitely had a more home video feel to it.

My only advice to anyone who intends to watch it is to bring a motion sickness pill to the theater if you get sick easily. With all the camera shakes and amateur zooms, I was literally about to throw up on the person in front of me. If the movie was 5 minutes longer, I was going to walk out of the theater - I was that nauseous. Can't believe I'm such a pansy.

Enjoy the movie.

Oh man, I saw it last night. And I absolutely HATED it. I think it's a cool idea but I think the script was terrible and it followed the simple pattern of all horror/sci-fi films. I'd wait for the video rental.

A bunch of the IT guys from work were trying to get me to go see this, looks like I'll pass.

It was a great idea. I think it could have just been done THAT much better. More of a survival flick.

I don't ilke sci-fi, fantasy or fake movies period. I can't stand watching movies about stuff that would never happen in a million years.

If you can't stand watching movies about stuff that would never happen in a million years, think about that next time you're sitting next to your girl during some chick flick. You'll be thinking, "Yeah, this dude may have just flown across the country for this girl, but in real life, he'd be like, 'That ticket is how much? Sorry, no booty is worth that much. I'll dump her via e-mail."

i loved it. i'm not into "monster" movies, but i love apocalyptic movies.
and this one delivered.

as for the filming style. i didn't think it was that bad. it definitely added to the experience.

i wished it was longer. that's how much i loved it.
