Default Canadian Forces

So I just finished college (Tourism management), I chose this program, because i want to see the world. But now i think i need more action, so I am seriously considering to join Canadian Forces. Maybe reserves (while exploring tourism industry a bit more) at first and than full time soldier. I just turned 24 so my age is about right for it, my physical condition is great so I'm not worried about any tests. I am wondering if any of you did go to army and if could give me any kind of advise/opinion.

good on ya for doing it. Personally, I would never join the forces, just because of the crap my families been through, I prefer to be active behind the scene, sure its the pussy move but I don't mind.

again, good on ya!

lol it's not a pussy move, i didn't think i will go to army till i was 18 or so (that's when i started thinking about it) My parents didn't want me too, but now they don't have much say in my decisions ( and it seems that they don't mind it anymore)

If it feels like the right thing to do for you personally, then i would say go for it. Of course there are risks and concerns, but i'm sure you be taking away some incredible experiences that many would never have happen to them.

My buddy who's in the Navy (and now leaving) reserves used the experience to travel around Canada and the US. He enjoyed it. He also used it as a way to build experience for a future career and really he told me there's a ton of options. He wanted to work in HR, he's working on getting his HRIS and worked as a recruiter for a few years. It's given him the opportunity to either work in government, not for profit.
