Blackberry

I have a Blackberry Curve (through work). I've had it for about 2yrs and have had nothing but problems with it. Anyway i'm getting an upgrade and replacing it within the next few days. Now everyone i work with was given blackberry's and i like the phone for the email, BBM and all that but if i had a choice i'd get an iphone. Anyway, i'm probably looking at getting either the Blackberry Storm or Blackberry Torch (leaning toward the torch).
One good thing for sure that i know is the web browser has been upgraded thank god. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with either phone and what their thoughts are?

Just to let you know. the Storm is about a 2yr old phone, the Storm 2 is a yr old...so if you want a touchscreen BB, Torch is the way to go.

Can't really comment on the phone itself but OS6 is very appealing to me. I have the new Bold (9780). just seems like the navigation is a lot better and the browser is DEF better.

Go with the Iphone 4G. I've had both the Bold and curves, and both shitted out on me, I always got that stupid white screen. BBM is cool, but once you get an Iphone and check out all the cool apps you'll forget about it. I always email from my iphone you get used to it after a while.

like i said...i don't have a choice but to get a blackberry. i have to communicate with people at work and we all have blackberry's. BBM is great for my work.if i had a choice i'd get the iphone. i really want the torch, so that's likely what i'll get.

yeah, the touch screen is nice, love the fact that they upgraded the internet browser. the curve was practically unusable.

Do not get the touch screens from Blackberry, just not their forte.

The Blackberry or iPhone, it's actually a very simple decision. Each one caters specifically to the needs of their different users.

Blackberry's: great for those who just want a phone to talk, text, e-mail, BBM (chat), web-browsing.

iPhones: fun, tonnes of apps to play around with, etc.

I personally go with the Blackberry because I want my cell phone to be a cell phone, not an entertainment unit. I see the iPhone as an fun gadget with tonnes of apps which also have phone and texting capabilities, as opposed to a smartphone primarily... Vice versa for the Blackberry

If you do go with the Blackberry, I would say go with the Bold 9780. New OS6 I love it.

Everyone has complaints about every phone, go with whichever one is easiest to use in your own opinion. Forget what we say, we're silly!

I have a Blackberry Bold. This is because I am bold.

I've heard good things so far about the torch. Someone at work has the bold and they've had issues.

I think i'm getting this one:

I'd like a Blackberry Italic.

Actually, a Blackberry Big Wang would be more apropos.

What issues have they had?

Well if you really like touch screens go for it :), but I honestly believe if you are going for a BlackBerry, things like touch screens shouldn't even rank high on your list of things you are looking for in a phone. Again, like I said, it is just not their forte. Just to warn you, the iPhone's touch screen is 1000x more intuitive.

yeah but he wants the blackberry aspects of a cell phone AND the touch screen so i don't see why he shouldn't get the torch. yes the iphone screen is better but it doesn't serve his needs

Not their Forte? How so? From what i've seen and heard their touch screens are good. Not as good as an iphone, but i'm not getting an iphone. As for the Bold, the problems are the phone shuts off on it's own all the time, call log doesn't save, constant error notifications, dropped calls.

lol i didn't say he shouldn't get it. I'm just giving my opinion. I don't find having a touch screen important. But if he does, he should go for it, but don't expect anything remotely as intuitive as a iPhone touch screen.

The torch just seemed to childish. I swaped it for a 9780 just a few days ago.

childish? :confused2:

Kuzzy 01-14-2011 12:37 AM

Yes. It was too big and the sliding feature was just a turn off. If you like the touch-screen then you mideaswell go with the iphone.

First of all for the 10th time, i can't get the iphone. Second, since the sliding feature was a turnoff wtf did you get it since it's such a prominent feature on that phone?
