Smile Birthday Gifts

My girlfriend's birthday is next Friday, and I need to get her a birthday present. She's not fussy but she loves thoughtful gifts, so I want to get her something thoughtful. We're going to Belize mid-August, and Belize is very outdoorsy (hiking, kayaking, mayan ruins, ecotourism type stuff) so I figure I'd get her something that we could use on one of our Belizian day trips, or something Belize-y. Thing is I don't know what types of things you'd need/want for outdoor excursions since I've never really been into that stuff.

So...looking for good birthday gift ideas that we could potentially use on our ecotourism vacation that she'd love. Any help would be appreciated, thanks homeys

thought - i have gone on a few such trips, and if there is one thing i can say, you don't want to take anything along that isn't light to carry or necessary. it is tough to think of things that are both thoughtful and that meet that criteria. a good watch is an option, but it is a target for theft, depending on where you are going. i think a kobo or e-reader is a good choice because lugging several books around is always a pain in the ass. trekking clothes are another possibility, as are camera accessories.

i am not sure if you guys are interested in scuba diving. belize is an amazing destination for that, so it might be on your list. buying her a course on diving, or an underwater camera would be cool ideas if you guys are doing that. diving with someone you are close to is a cool experience, and i always thing that experiential gifts are way better than material ones. you sure as hell wouldn't ever forget it.

another option is books on the places you are going so she can prepare in advance.

i hope that helps.

oh, and i would strongly suggest that buying her an orgasm is both a waste of money and a discredit to your own... er... talents... i don't know what sj has done in the past, but i'd think you can probably give her one of those for free...

i always had a hard time choosing gifts for my wife back when we were dating. Nowadays i do something like make her a gift certificate for a pair of shoes or somthing(i'll hand draw one up in an arts/crafts way) and then i'll just take her shopping so she can pick out something she likes. Seems like a cop out, but the thought/effort is made in the gift certificate.

the watch seems like a good idea though, especially if she could use another one.

I kinda liked Kirby's idea of a good camera to take photos of the excursions. But 'trane's idea is good too, pre-book the places you're taking her to. You can have a lot of fun with that.

As for orgasms... yes. We women appreciate being given orgasms once a year. (And, for the record, we can give 'em to ourselves... so... go with the other stuff )

Maybe he's confused and and is thinking of a guy giving a woman a "PEARL NECKLACE"...not a pearl necklace...

Even though he seems to be getting it backwards.

I assumed he did not mean jewellery. No? Either way, I guess.

Thanks lol. It's perfect for the excursion since it's water proof it's good for kayaking or any other adventures. You can get solar powered ones as well.
