I bet when the show premiered in 1963 there was a little Shadowfax in front of his black and white TV holding a Fantastic Four comic
Having fun my friend...i never make fun

My memory goes as far back as the 4th Doctor (Tom Baker)...would periodically watch it...he's still my favourite
Got back into it a few years ago when the show came back to the BBC (2005 ??)...it's a wonderful mix of sci-fi and British humour
Since then i've tried to watch every episode...the really old stuff is classic

Oh and Matt Smith is amazing as the 11th Doctor

Edit... wanted to add that one of my alltime favourite episodes was the fairly recent Vincent and The Doctor...
Van Gogh is one of my alltime favourite artists and the museum scene at the end never fails to bring tears to my eyes

I'll probably watch from the 10th Doctor. I just want to see the 50th anniversary season since Benedict Cumberbatch is going to be the villan.

Another wicked ep of Spartacus last night.... loving the writing in that show. They really do an excellent job of keeping you guessing. Did NOT see that stuff with Illythia/Sepia/Galber coming at all!

spartacus fans

just curious if they plan on keeping gannicus around since he's a fictional character. i feel it's safe to say that he's the only character on the show who is worth keeping.

After Spartacus and Crixes(sp) you mean. After all they are the main real life characters in the events yet to come.

no, i didn't mean that at all. spartacus is a bitch and crixes is a caveman. the only character with any depth on that show is gannicus. i watch the show, i somewhat enjoy it, but i don't think it would be any worth without him on it.

since I read most of the "factual" events that are the inspiration for the show it looks like the show won't go past 3 seasons unless they plan on going on without the main gladiators *hint*

I still like the storyline of the non gladiators more that the gladiators themselves

I think I read somewhere that they'd like to have another 2 seasons after this one which would make sense if they're going to stick to the history (I read it too).

Gannicus WAS a real character.... one of Spartacus' generals along with Crixus and Oenomaus. I haven't seen Agron's name anywhere though....

I agree with you in that I think he's the most compelling character of the bunch. It's a real shame that "Gods of the Arena" was only 6 eps because I really enjoyed watching him and Battiatus. I know that they probably won't do it but I'd love to see another prequel that shows Gannicus' arrival and rise through the ranks at the Ludus... and perhaps the meeting and marriage of Battiatus and Lucretia as well.

Sometimes, the writing, actor and mannerisms of a character in a show come together so perfectly, you really think he/she is real.

This guys an absolute beast.

I'm going to preface this comment by saying I have followed Spartacus from day one, have seen every episode.

Hearing words like brilliant and compelling being used to describe the show make me giggle.

The latest sex scene, coated in Sepia's blood, rivaled Bill & ex from two seasons ago in True Blood. Kudos to any show that manages to shock/disturb me.

To each their own I suppose. They can get a little carried away with the gore at times but I still think that the show gives most of their characters a depth that we rarely get to see... and they're acted out brilliantly as well (same reason I enjoyed "The Wire" and "BSG" so much)

Shows like TWD and Trueblood have made me roll my eyes many a time.... I don't think I've had that reaction once while watching Spartacus.
