Oy vey.... finished "Six Feet Under" last night after a couple of marathon sessions the last few days... and I am an emotional bag of shit after watching that finale.

One of the best "human dramas" that I've ever seen from top to bottom. Maybe THE best.

Agreed.

------ SPOILER ALERT (DO NOT READ IF YOU PLAN ON WATCHING) -----------

I think the part of the show that REALLY killed me was when Nate buried Lisa in the desert. I couldn't imagine going through something like that.

AMC Renews "The Walking Dead" for Third Season

link

Quote:
AMC announced today the renewal of "The Walking Dead" for a third season. Season two continues to deliver the strongest telecasts for any drama in basic cable history against Adults 18-49 shattering a basic cable record set nearly 10 years ago for a single drama telecast ("The Dead Zone"). "The Walking Dead" is based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. Glen Mazzara serves as series' showrunner. Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert and Frank Darabont are executive producers. Greg Nicotero is a co-executive producer.

"Today we are pleased to announce that the 'dead' shall live as we proudly renew 'The Walking Dead' for a third season on AMC and, globally, with our terrific partners at Fox International Channels," said Charlie Collier, AMC's President. "We are thankful for everyone's contribution in front of and behind the camera as we continue to make 'The Walking Dead' a unique television experience. And, we are so proud as it continues to set viewership records around the world."

FOX International Channels rolled-out its global launch for "The Walking Dead" this weekend, with premieres on FIC's cable networks in Europe, Asia, Latin American, Africa and the Middle East. The series' international premieres delivered equally impressive results in all major international TV markets, and broke pay-TV ratings' records across the world. Over 10 million viewers in 122 countries tuned in live to watch the second season premiere of this highly anticipated returning drama. And, FIC will once again be the international broadcasting partner for the series with Entertainment One continuing to distribute in non-FIC markets.

"Partnering with AMC on 'The Walking Dead' took some guts", said Sharon Tal Yguado, SVP of Scripted Programming at FIC. "But at the same time was the easiest programming decision we ever made. It's rare to come across a groundbreaking TV project that is also attached to some of the best talent in town. 'The Walking Dead' was treated as a global event since day one and not only changed the traditional TV model but also changed our viewers' TV experience. It is now officially a global addiction with millions of fans around the globe wanting more. We are delighted to give it to them."

"The Walking Dead" secured a 2010 Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Series - Drama and won the 2011 Emmy Award for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup. The series tells the story of the months and years that follow after a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home.

"The Walking Dead" received rave reviews from countless critics, both domestic and international, who heralded the series as "above all else, "The Walking Dead" hasn't lost the most important ingredient in its strangely successful recipe: it's thrilling" (The Hollywood Reporter), "…with Dead's riveting cast of characters, the personal dynamics are almost as potent as the gory thrills" (Us Weekly), "The Walking Dead is a feast. Dig in." (The Guardian, UK), "It doesn't even take three minutes to realize that this series is setting standards" (Der Tagesspiegel, Germany).

The Dark Tower Finds Its Home on Television?

link

Quote:
Producer Brian Grazer has revealed that part of Ron Howard's The Dark Tower will air on HBO. If you recall, Howard and Grazer are setting out to bring Stephen King's property to film as a trilogy and to television.

"We're going to do ['The Dark Tower'] with HBO," Grazer told MTV. "We'll do the TV with HBO, and we'll do the movie with...to be determined. We'll do it right."

With one part of this puzzle locked in place, now all The Dark Tower needs is to find a studio through which to create the films. But who will take on such a task?

Grazer added that "We're going to do that movie. We've lost $45 million out of the budget. When people say no to you enough, then you have to lose money, which we've done without harming the scope of the film."

I have faith in Grazer and Howard. You would have to be a fanboy in order to want this project started so bad.
I just hope they dont mess with the ending too much.

Wow... The Dark Tower series on HBO? That could be VERY good.

I've been working my way through the Walking Dead comics (online)... man... it's pretty messed up lol... A LOT of stuff in there that they'd never get away with on TV. Much more realistic though I think.

If they are still planning to do what I think they are going to do, Javier Bardem will be playing roland during the movies and the TV series portion would be young roland in Mejis. ( i think thats the name of the town) PLayed by a younger actor.

Anyone ever heard of a show called "An Idiot Abroad"? Just watched the first two episodes and I'm liking it a lot so far. It's worth a try for those of you who like travel shows.

Awesoem show, I believe I mentioned it once before on this thread.
People should really start listening to everything i say. LOL Kiddding.

Karl PIlkinton is an enigma. I dont know if he is acting or not. Either way he is hilarious. If he is actually like this, I kinda feel sorry for him.

Lol sorry man, my bad. I usually do a good job of checking the history to see if anyone already mentioned something that I was about to post. Wish I could've seen your post earlier, totally missed out but glad I finally found out about about the show eventually.

Not sure if he's just putting on an act for the show but even if he was I don't think it would ruin it for me. It would still get a lot of laughs out of me
