Glad I'm not the only one.

She was just so annoying. Especially after the boob job and slight makeover.

So you know if they bring her back as a dead spiritual advisor, she'll be even more annoying.

Doakes was the best in the older episodes...I remember watching the first episode of Dexter a long time ago, not knowing anything about it, and it was all serious in the beginning and then they introduce Doakes

And fuck Quinn, thought he'd be dead by now lol

I did too! As soon as he showed up on the show, I thought he'd last only a couple of episodes.

Doakes was great. Good call. He added a lot to the show.

I also enjoy Musuka. His character is awesome when he gets scenes. He had me in stiches during a couple of the older episodes.

Dexter's wife is/was annoying. I get where people are coming from.

I'm not done watching season 4 (although, unfortunately, I now know some details about what is going to happen), so I don't quite understand why people hate Quinn. I mean, he is not the most likeable guy, but I don't hate him yet. Maybe he'll get more annoying as I get further into season 4.

In terms of hotness, I prefer Laguerta over all the female characters. She is also way more interesting.

Bad news for Breaking Bad fans - although mini-episodes will be posted online, there won’t be any new episodes until July of 2011!

“The idea is to keep people aware and interested in the show during the long time away,” Bryan told Deadline. “But I, for one, am eager to make these little interstitials important. I don’t want them to be simply filler or recap, but something that actually moves the storyline forward. If we’re going to do it, it ought to be a real part of the larger show.”

Yeah, Luke's mom was not pleased about the abortion, to say the least. The scene in which Tami goes before the committee to explain her actions was pretty great. I mean, regardless of one's views on abortion, the sentiments she expressed are indicative of what a caring person she is. There was one really powerful line, but I can't remember it exactly.
That was some really terrific writing and some equally great acting. I really don't see anything wrong with what she told Becky (maybe I'm remembering wrong ... it was so long ago that I saw the episode and I meant to watch it on NBC but, with everything going on, there was just no time) ... she gave Becky her options and left her to make her own decision ... unless we missed something.

Quote:
I sort of wish we knew how Luke's mom came to the conlusion that Tami Taylor talked Becky into getting an abortion. It's obvious that she was just looking to blame someone, but that scene could have been interesting. How on earth did Becky end up walking away from that conversation with a positive impression of Luke's mom? If this was real life, I would have expected someone with the personality Luke's mom to approach Becky in a negative or condescending manner. It seems like a missed opportunity for an interesting scene. On the other hand, maybe it's just too difficult. It's much easier to just say that conversation happened and go from there. It's things like this that make me miss the 22 episode long season even more.
I agree that Luke's mother was furious and looking to blame someone and, since Tami was the one who advised Becky, the person to blame was Tami. Who else could she blame? Certainly not the kids. Becky's mother, maybe? Definitely miss the 22 episode/season format. Leaves too many questions unanswered.

Quote:
Like I said before, I like Jess's Dad. He is a solid male role model that parallels what coach Taylor brings to the show.
I agree. I hope they utilise him more next season. Maybe bring him onto the Lions as an assistant.

Quote:
Also, I like how a number of the actors exhibit flashes of great character while simultaneously making some very poor decisions. Vince and Tim both are faced with some really tough scenarios this season. Both struggle to do the right thing, and frequently WANT to do the right thing, yet they still come up short when facing tough economic realities. Life can be complicated and force people to into difficult moral dillemas. I like how the show continues to capture that.
Absolutely! Which is why I try to tell people that this show is so much more than football. Wish people would give it a chance. It's amazing and poignant and filled with some of the best characters on television today.

Quote:
To a certain degree, Matt's situation is complicated too. I thought his silence was understandable. Losing a parent is a mindfuck. I was dissapointed that Julie dissed him once he finally called. But I guess that's the point of good TV; it's supposed to provoke a reaction. Yes, I understand why she is mad. I just thought she should give him a chance. Sometimes it's hard to remember that she's supposed to be a teenager. I guess a 17 y/o girl would act that way. I'm really curious to know how you felt about that episode. You know what does or does not happen in the next couple of episodes, so that might change your overall impression of the situation, but how did you feel about that episode? It would be interesting to hear your perspective.
You know, I sympathise with both Julie and Matt. They're both young ... I mean, Matt's ~ 19 and Julie's ~ 17 ... they're both still relatively immature. Definitely, losing a family member is hard as heck so I can understand the silence on Matt's part. I can even understand the wanting to take off ... to leave it all behind ... and to try to find himself. But I can also understand Julie's frustration with him ... to try and try to talk to someone and not get any real response ... and then to have said person just take off like that without saying goodbye? As a 17 year-old, I would have been really upset.

Quote:
Given what I said in the last paragraph, I'm sure you could have guessed I was a little dissapointed by how Julie hooked up with that "habitat for humanity" dude. Maybe I'm expecting too much of her? Again, I'd welcome your thoughts.
I was similarly disappointed. Not entirely surprised ... we all do stupid things like that be it when we are 17 or 27 or, hell, even 37. But I did expect more from her so ... yup, you're right about that!

What did you think of the ending? Parts were sad and made me cry, parts were happy and made me cry ... not going to say anything else just in case you haven't seen it yet.

Tami did nothing wrong. I just don't take for granted that everyone agrees on abortion. That's why I included the part about "regardless of one's views on abortion". I simply meant that, even if someone was pro-life, they'd have a hard time making a case that Tami was not caring or compassionate; she most certainly is/was compassionate.

In my opinion, if Luke's mom wanted to bitch, she should have taken it up with Becky's mom. Yes. Abso-fucking-lutely. IIRC, Tami told Becky to tell her mom. Either way, Becky's mom was the last adult to consult with Becky before the abortion. But I suppose it's much easier to force an apology out of a school administrator than another kid's mom. I'll return to the abortion controversy later in my post.

Good idea!

Re: Matt and Julie

At least it ended on good terms. Yeah, the more I think about it, I did really stupid stuff when I was 17...REALLY stupid.

I watched the finale on Friday. Overall, I really liked it. There was a balance of good and bad things happening to people, which made it easier for me to enjoy the Lions' victory. As I stated before, I was a little worried the victory would be too Disneyish. But in the context of all the other unfortunate cirmcumstances that occured, it wasn't over the top. Yeah, the Lions future victory was predictable the minute it was revealed that the Panthers had to forfeit a game due to Luke, but it was still good TV.

As I mentioned before, I had a couple of minor criticisms that I held off from bringing up until I knew whether they would get resolved. One thing that bothered me was the fact that Becky didn't stick up for Tami. In the final episode, I was waiting to see if Becky would speak up. Becky seems like a decent person, especially in her exchanges with Tim. I was left wonderig why Becky didn't come forward and say "back off, it's not her fault" or at least try harder to set the record straight. Surely Becky must have known that a mob was out to get Tami. The controversey was out in the open and made its way to school grounds. Of course, it's possible that the public didn't know Becky was the one who had an abortion. Consequently, Becky didn't come forward because she didn't want to "out" herself. Anyways, the point is I was left with some questions about that. This is yet another example of how a 22 episode season would have been helpful. The writers could have explored Becky's delimma. Based on the way her character was written, I would think Becky would have felt bad about what happened to Tami.

Now that the season is over, you don't have to worry about giving anything away. So post about anything. I love FNL. I'll enjoy reading your comments.
