Default Best movie project... ever?

The Expendables (2010)

Plot: A team of mercenaries head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator.

Director/Writer: Sylvester Stallone

Cast:
Sylvester Stallone
Jason Statham
Jet Li
Mickey Rourke
Eric Roberts
Dolph Lundgren (Drago from Rocky IV)
Randy Couture
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin
Terry Crews (San Diego Chargers player... role originally was Forest Whitaker's... then 50 Cent's... then this guy!)
Arnold Schwarzenneger (cameo)
Charisma Carpenter
Giselle

Stallone says there's going to be enough testosterone in this to float a continent

Unfortunately Jean-Claude VD turned down the lead role and Seagal is busy with a reality show. But there's always the sequel...

This is going to be so awesome

Looks like Kurt Russell couldn't make it

Source: http://chud.com/articles/articles/18...BLE/Page1.html

When The Expendables comes out, will the credits read "Casting director: The Internet"? It seems likely, now that Sylvester Stallone is coming out and apologizing for not getting the actors that The Internet wanted for his new movie. Case in point: Sly's failure to secure Kurt Russell in the movie.

Writing to Stallone Zone, the #1 Sylvester Stallone fansite from here to Bayonne, Sly says:

I know that many people on the site have asked for Kurt Russell. I asked for him too. Actually, I was taken aback when asked to put the request in a letter and send it to his agent. Subsequently, I was called back by the agent several days later after refusing to send a letter and he said Kurt Russell is not interested in ‘ensemble acting’ at this time.

So, People, I came, I saw, I failed.

There's a not so subtle tone of butt-hurtedness in that missive which I quite like.

But the good news, people, is that a Tango & Cash 2 wouldn't be 'ensemble acting.' That would be just co-leads. Keep hope alive.

Thanks to Mike for the heads up.

Danny Trejo is fundamental there. He is the perfect secondary bad guy.

I'm introducing a mate of mine to Buffy and she hates Cordelia with a passion. It's really quite funny.
