Ashton Kutcher officially replaces Charlie Sheen

I liked this show, but this will kill it for me in all likelyhood!

Sure he was one of a half-dozen names we floated, but we still deserve props, dammit!

The Kutcher news comes two days after Deadline.com reported that Hugh Grant rejected a lucrative offer to join CBS’ No. 1 sitcom.

“I can’t wait to get to work with this ridiculously talented 2.5 team and I believe we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in viewers’ homes,” said Kutcher in a statement. “I can’t replace Charlie Sheen but I’m going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!”

“We are so lucky to have someone as talented, joyful and just plain remarkable as Ashton joining our family,” enthused Men creator Chuck Lorre. “Added to that is the deep sigh of relief knowing that our family stays together. If I was any happier, it’d be illegal.”

This marks Kutcher’s first series gig since That ’70s Show went off the air in 2006. Details regarding his Men character have not been disclosed. Chances are CBS is holding that piece of news until upfront day on May 18.

Hugh Grant would have been fine.

Jeremy Piven would have been AWESOME.

Ashton Kutcher makes me want to wretch.

I won't be watching this show any longer.

I think its a pretty good mix. Ashton Kutcher is still in the medias eye.
Hugh Grant.. now that would have been a flop.
I liked ashton on that 70's show. Not a big fan of his movie career or his camera commercials. But maybe sitcoms are his niche.

I won't be watching it anymore. Ashton Kutcher is unwatchable. Hugh Grant imo probably wouldn't have been much better. Jeremy Piven would have been great, hell i would have gone after Jason Alexander (might be too old) or someone like that. I wonder if he's gonna just be recast as Charlie or be another character? Oh well!!

i heard they make alan move to an apartment or some place and his roomate will be kutcher. just speculation tho.

i dont think the show will be the same but im sure it could still be funny. imo the show's best episodes were the early seasons when jake was a kid.

I agree. And i wish they would expend Berta's character somehow, that woman is hilarious.

Yeah, but she's one of those characters that are only funny if they have a smaller, secondary role.

I dont get it. The show is fucking terrible to start, yet, you guys are actually upset that another guy is gonna play a part in a terrible sitcom.

don't get the hype for this show
there are 10 shows ahead of 2.5 men in the line for my TV attention

and isn't the kid old now...he's not 1/2 a man
