Anyone here workout daily?

In daily i mean at least 3-4 times a week, just started about a month ago and seeing changes in my body but reading online im thinking I might be doing the wrong workouts and combination of workouts in a day. Here is my routine..

Sunday: Bench about 120 (5 sets of 10), Also 12-20 minutes cardio +75 situps
Monday: 12-20 minutes of cardio + 30 pushups + 75 situps
Tuesday: Bench about 120 (5 sets of 10) + 12-20 minutes of cardio + 75 situps
Wednesday: OFF
Thursday: Bench about 120 (5 sets of 10) + 12-20 minutes of cardio +75 situps
Friday: 12-20 minutes of cardio + 30 pushups + 75 situps
Saturday: 10 minutes of cardio + 2 sets of Dumbbell excersises + 75 situps + 30 pushups

Now I think I might be doing my workouts wrong. Again the cardio is some power walking and light jogging. But basically when I bench I do a set, then run for a few minutes, then do 25 situps, then run for minutes, then go back to the bench and keep rotating. The reason I do this is because I can't walk for too long and my feet start to hurt for some reason. And the days I don't do bench I rotate situps/running/pushups.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

I'm 108 lb and 5'8, very underweight. I will hit the YMCA everyday after exams and aim for more muscle to compete in basketball. Ask the trainer at the gym to help you.

I'm no expert but I work out. You def dont gotta to 5 sets of bench press unless you're working on endurance. Do like 2/3 sets of 10 and put more weight and you'll feel it more than doing 5 sets of 120 lbs.

a really good workout program to build serious mass is max ot go to the website ast-ss.com/maxot the idea is working out with 4 to 6 reps per set ive been doing it for 2 years and have put on serious size but make sure ur nutrition is good otherwize working out is pointless

I'm the same height as you... I weigh about 12 lbs more.

Come, eat Big Macs with me. With poutine on the side. Extra cheese.

For weights all you do is bench?

What I do is,

Monday: Biceps, forearms, and triceps
Tuesday: Legs
Wednesday: Back, Shoulders, and Traps
Friday: Chest

Pushups and Situps at home. I weigh 170.

I think about it really hard and I actually get results.

It's uncanny!

Barracuda 01-22-2011 03:44 PM

It's true, he once thought about a six pack and got one.

'Course, I had to run to the LCBO... but still! Magic! :dancing:

Prob is I don't have a spotter and 120 is the amount of weight I am good with by myself. I mean I work on going slow and really flex my muscles to get good results.

What workouts do you do for all of those and how many sets/reps

raptorballer13 01-22-2011 03:54 PM

TRAINING MONTAGE! :yeah:

Superjudge 01-22-2011 03:56 PM

nice

Chiggmo 01-22-2011 04:07 PM

Simple problem, you don't do near enough variety in workouts for all your muscles, your gonna overwork a bunch and be left with a bad back and all odd lookin, go see a trainer of some sort and get them to lay out a good workout plan for yourself, and some sort of eating plan to make sure you get the right nutrition.

Considering all your doing is sit-ups/push-ups benching and a slight bit with dumbbells your wasting your time in the gym.

And when I say variety theres different machines and such for your triceps, back, shoulder, and chest muscles, all are needed or in the end when all the muscles that you are working will be fine, meanwhile the rest won't, and its not a good sight.

surreyjack 01-22-2011 04:09 PM

Wow brah you're doing it way wrong. What you want to do is split the muscle groups. This is what I do

M: Chest/Triceps
T: Cardio/abs
W: Biceps/Forearms
TH: Cardio/legs
F: Shoulders/Back

For sets I would start off with 5x5. Remember work your way up, don't just start with curling 40 pounds right away.

Here's a good link for exercises

Also if you are serious about cardio look up HIIT cardio. Also if your feet are hurting it's most likely your shoes.

You guys need to understand I have school and a job, so doing these workouts at the school gym would be an issue. I mean I don't want to come in and say oh I might go one day and I might not go another day. I just want a toned body not anything special.

There are for sure workouts I can do to build all my muscles at home with just dumbbells. Just trying to figure out what are those exercises and how many I need to do.
