If you don't mind me askin, what do canadians eat to be so big? Maybe Chinese food doesn't have the same effect

damn that's pretty impressive, can I ask what kind of diet or exercise you did to gain that much weight?

I'm 5'11 140lbs right now, a little underweight, could help to gain 10 to 15 pounds but I want to gain muscle lol

been doing Insanity on and off since the summer, more cardio work but it's had me feeling good while playing sports and running.

u ever try any supplements for whey protein for added boost?

I heard about the 4 hour body book yesterday...downloaded it and skimmed a few parts...the guy's basically tried every exercise method and supplement/drugs to see what works the best but some of his stuff involves serious amounts of supplements. For a guy like me who's allergic to random normal food, becoming a walking pharmacy will probably kill me lol

just wanna get up to 150 or 155 by the summer from 140 and have some serious definition, have always had pretty good definition in my stomach area and arms...just need to see a lot more lol

How much more does an inch taller affect weight? Iverson is 5"11 and around 165lbs. I'm 3 inches shorter but 125 is still far off from 165 despite the small 3 inch difference in height

I change the channel with the remote about 150 times a day. My thumb is ripped.

I've gained about 30 pounds in the past two years and it shows. I hate it. I had a little heart episode (benign, but I don't want to go through the terror again) which was caused by a shortage of potassium and magnesium. I've become really paranoid about it happening again, so I drink way too much orange juice, eat too many bananas and start each day with a bowl of All Bran. It adds up.

Question. Could I get rid of that extra fat from just lifting some weights? Would I still have to cut back those extra calories?

Sunday: Bench about 120 (5 sets of 10), Also 12-20 minutes cardio +75 situps
Monday: 12-20 minutes of cardio + 30 pushups + 75 situps
Tuesday: Bench about 120 (5 sets of 10) + 12-20 minutes of cardio + 75 situps
Wednesday: OFF
Thursday: Bench about 120 (5 sets of 10) + 12-20 minutes of cardio +75 situps
Friday: 12-20 minutes of cardio + 30 pushups + 75 situps
Saturday: 10 minutes of cardio + 2 sets of Dumbbell excersises + 75 situps + 30 pushups

Now I think I might be doing my workouts wrong. Again the cardio is some power walking and light jogging. But basically when I bench I do a set, then run for a few minutes, then do 25 situps, then run for minutes, then go back to the bench and keep rotating. The reason I do this is because I can't walk for too long and my feet start to hurt for some reason. And the days I don't do bench I rotate situps/running/pushups.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

If that figure doesn`t go up in the next couple of weeks, you have to start going harder. I weigh 170 right now and can bench 225. When I was in high school I weighed about 155 and could bench 185. IMO, if you really want to scuplt a nice upper body, your chest means EVERYTHING. Really, REALLY push yourself. Another thing, 5 sets is unecessary. Instead, try 3 sets with 10 reps each, then on your forth, go to your absolute max and set a reasonable target number. For instance, bench 35s, 45s, 45s and 10s, then max out at 45s and 25s.

I ate 6-8 meals a day. It was hard at first but I forced myself to do it. I included whey protein shakes and weight gainers in my diet as well. Lifting heavy contributed to everything as well. At first I was lifting light and I wasn't gaining. I started working out with a partner so that he could spot me on most of my workouts for when I went heavy.

I just weighed myself right now and I'm at 186. I started lifting in 2007 when I was in grade 11 so it's been about 4 years now. I was about 140 pounds then.

Here a list of supplements I use and still do sometimes:

100% Whey Protein
CytoSport Muscle Milk
NO-Xplode
Optimum Amino Energy
Gaspari Nutrition SizeOn

The only thing that sucks is that supplements cost quite a lot of money. Best thing to do is go to the States and buy them there or buy a gold card at GNC for $10 and get discounted supplements.

Damn 225 at 170 is very good. I can barely rep 225. I need a really good spot to even get 3 or 4 reps off.

You gotta eat Steaks, Beef, Chicken, and most importantly Fish. There are a lot of Indian foods which are high in protein as well that I eat. Put almonds in your oatmeal every morning. There are tons of way of getting protein.

I eat all that everyday and I'm only 108lb. Is it safe for 15 year old to start lifting? My back hurts a lot and I think it's because there isn't enough muscle. When I bend down and dribble the ball, I feel like someone is putting weight on it. I went to physiotherapy and they said there wasn't enough quad muscle to support my back.

If you aren't strong enough to lift weights, then don't start with that.

Work your way up, so do push-ups or something until you can lift small weights. Then work your way up to the bigger weights.

Muscle burns fat, but realistically you have to combine it with cardio (sorry) and a good diet to see any results. You can't spot reduce fat by doing select exercises i.e. if you want your abs to show six pack you can't just abuse ab exercises to make it happen. has to come with cardio and good food.

Someone recommend me a good protein shake. I never use em when I workout but I know it helps.
