What protein shake you guys using? I drink Syntha 6, I really love it but I'm running out of money. Is there any affordable decent-tasting protein shakes similar to Syntha 6? I'm looking around $30-$40.

to maximize your gains you're going to need a combination of committed exercise and healthy eating. if you want to gain weight (muscle) you're going to need lots of protein and good carbohydrates (whole wheat bread, fruits) versus bad ones (chocolate).

For what size? I take Progressive's new protein supp and it's a 2 lb jug for $49.99. It's New Zealand sourced (natural, no steroids in the animals) protei and also provides some key veggie suppliments in case you don't get enough probiotics and other crap that veggies give you

Choc flavour tastes really good too.

My legs hurt from yesterday's Insanity workout. That's how I gauge success.

ToRap (or anyone), what's a good exercise to work the outside leg muscles? I feel like I don't have any, but other than side leg lifts I have no idea...

cross train. any side to side mobility or stability move will engage your adductors.

Insanity has a lot of moves that will work this for ya Cuda, patience.

As well, when you run with the dog, go for some trail runs, the ground is uneven ad it forces your legs to use all muscles.

Why ya asking torap these questions..... he don't know shit!

:P

TBH the 2 best exercises that you can do (at home) for your legs are probably squats and lunges. They're going to work your WHOLE leg (inner and outer) plus your ass and your core.

You can do squats with just your bodyweight or with a dumbbell or medicine ball (or holding something heavy in your arms).

Same with lunges.

There ARE machines in the gym that specifically there to target the inner and outer thighs but (IMO) they're not as effective as squats and lunges. Can't go wrong with those 2 leg exercises.

Keep killin' it girlie!

I do squats and lunges with 8 lb dumbbells... I just never notice any new muscles on the outside of my legs; it's everywhere else.

I'll continue with the Insanity crap and see what happens.

I guess that you COULD invest in some ankle weights and put 'em on while you lie on your side and open/close your legs like a scissors... that would prob. work too and isolate those muscles.

So you gonna be all "She-Ra" for summer?

Did it when I was in Vancouver a few years ago... and it KICKED. MY. ASS.

I hate to run but I could hike that every damn day and get ripped in no time.

HIGHLY recommend it if you're ever out there.

I underestimated it the first time I did it which was like 8-9 years ago and I finished it at a time of 1 hour and 20 mins. In highschool in fitness class when we went I did it in 45 minutes. The Canucks do it during training camp and there average time is 36-43 minutes. The average time for the climb is surprisingly 90 minutes. I went with my cousin a few years back and it took him 2 hours, he didn't think he was going to make it to the top halfway in lol.

Lol! It took me about 1hr and 10 min.... I made the same mistake that you did the first time though and REALLY underestimated it. Started out jogging the first 10 minutes... that... was a mistake. lol. I was DYING during the last half of it. Had to stop 2 or 3 times for a breather.

I think that someone told me that the record (at the time) was 27 min.

Mind = blown.
