This has to be the first year since the disaster that we haven't been bombarded by September 11 stuff or at least I haven't heard much of anything today.

Have you guys?

No, but only because Monday was wifes birthday, and as SJ and Barracuda already know, totally forgot about that.............

As a result she has been telling me the date everyday when I wake up.

I remember vividly where I was when it happened. I was in the 8th grade, they brought everyone down to the gym, and they tried explaining what happened and everyone in the gym had no idea what was going on. Then they turned on CNN and :|. The principal broke down in tears and the gym went from being in a talking frenzy of why we were down here to complete silence. Horrible.

I was in office when my girlfriend (now wife) called to tell me if I heard of the news yet. Then after that with all the planes going down there was a very short sense that the world was coming to an end as we know it. Then I realized that I was overreacting.

I was working, someone told me, and I kept on working.

A friend was living with me and wifey at the time, who coincidentally is a pilot, was watching it when I got home from work, I watched until game in an hour started, like 15 minutes later, and turned the chanel.

PS. Thriller, I figured you were like 30 yers old and here you are like what 20?

I was listening to Stern at work and he was covering it as it happened.

It was pretty creepy.

Sad is it may sound .... another attack like the one on 911 is inevitable in the States once again or god forbid here in Canada.

World has been being torn apart by war for decades, starving people, sickness, natural disasters etc. Hardly call an act of terrorism the most significant event of our lifetime, not saying it wasnt horrible and tragic, just saying that there is alot of horrible and tragic things going on in this world, hardly feel more for one than another.

Aids is taking the lives of over 6000 people a day in Africa alone. Terrorism in a way is considered an act of war, many innocents die from war, never going to change. I find alot more tragedy in the knowledge that for the price of a $.10 condom a life could be saved.

If this event happened somewhere other than America it would be all but forgotten by now.

I don't think you could be more wrong, and the political fallout of 9-11 has shaped the rest of the world going forward. There is no more signifigant, single action in our lifetime.

If I knew how to fix all the problems in the world, Hunger, Disease, war injustice etc. I would do it.......unfortunatley I do not.

However, waring over oil would be a good start.

Iraqs invasion of Kuwait shapped far more than this.

Could also be argued that if it wasnt for Russias attack on Afganistan and the American's secret fundings and training given to AlQueda to fight tham would even be a greater influence.
