The fact that not a single Dylan album made it into the second round is ridiculous.

Not as a lyricist, perhaps as a songwriter though and definitely as a musician and performer.

in terms of performance, the rolling thunder review stuff was great, as were his bits with the band in the last waltz.

but... i saw him live in about '93 or so. i actually went to see santana who opened up for dylan. santana was great as always (once you get past all the god-squad stuff), but dylan was incomprehensible. I remember turning to my bro and asking "this is all along the watchtower, right? i'm pretty sure this is all along the watchtower." we left 5 minutes later. total garbage.

i'm still a big fan, though. i love so many of his songs. i just think he never got past being a stoned teenager. both his personality and his performaces show that in spades.

I know you didn't, but if Bob Dylan is overrated, so is John Lennon.

Not really.

John Lennon is what he is. Part of the greatest collective in popular music and slightly above average solo artist.

I look at them in the same way. I don't consider either of them average though.

No Doors, Zep, The Who, Yardbirds, Buddy Holly. ALso, why no attempt to creep into my fav screwed up genre the 80s

Not bad albums but all pretty Manilla to me.

As for this round I can't see myself voting against the White Album

i dunno, i just dnt see how you cant vote for the white album.
when i was younger, my dad used to play that baby all the time... i used to play nintendo and sit there listening to his music all day long.
he used to force me to turn the volume on the tv off, so id end up playing video games listening to old albums all day.

I don't know.

Maybe because Tanner always wanted us to be a boring Dylan/Band sort of sounding group I've grown to resent them both because I wanted us to be an energetic Who/Freak Beat group.
