9/11 - Never forget!

12th year anniversary - Thought it would be interesting to find out where everyone was when it happened, their reactions and also to pray for those who were effected.

(I wouldn't mind hearing what people's thoughts were on this, but I didn't want it to get into TOO much of a hot debate)

I was in the 6th grade and my teacher stopped everything and brought in a radio so we can hear the news.

God Bless

I was just waking up after the first plane hit. I had worked until 3:00 am that morning and had to go back to work early at 11:00 a.m. because the woman I was relieving on an executive protection surveillance had a son in Pennsylvania on business that was due to fly home and she was freaking out trying to get a hold of him. I then worked a 16hr day listening to the aftermath. That week was insane.

It was my birthday. i was working and listening to CBC radio, expecting to hear them reading an email from me that they chose among responses to a call for ideas for new TV specialty channels. That email never got read. I went out for dinner in what was something like a ghost town.

Oh - and I don't see any harm in forgetting. Allowing ourselves to be defined too much by a single terrible act - I find that more troublesome than any forgetting. I'm even working on forgetting my own birthday at this point.

Buddy and I skipped school (was some grade between 9-11 lol) because the following day was my b-day and we figured we'd drink it up a bit.
Watched the 2nd plane hit the tower.
Was pretty chilling.

Around 6 something AM here when it happened.

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 09-12-2013 12:25 AM

I was in grade 4 when it happened. We were informed at school of it and it was shocking - watched news later at home. I'd much rather forget about it. Something stunning to see and horrible no doubt. However, there are other things that continuously happen on Earth with massive amounts of loss of human life. I think a reason why it was so shocking (well looking back) was that for arguably the first time ever North America (mainly USA and Canada) had seen something on their doorstep which had the appearance of war.

Fun fact for LX - September 11th is also National Day of Catalunya.

was in 4th grade, just in Canada for a year, when the teacher said trade center, I thought something happened in Dubai. Found out what actually happened when I went home. I was pretty terrified. Really got scared of flying.

Fun fact: A year later when I was flying to dubai for my aunts wedding, my dad decided to get a hindi (Indian) movie to watch. We used to always watch a movie every friday or saturday back then if we didnt have anywhere to go. Anyways, the movie was about a plane getting hi-jacked -__- My grade 4 self went into profiling mode on that plane, was looking at the dude with a cowboy hat the whole time I was on the plane.
