Default Yikes, if this happens, this season is over

Sources: Cavs inching closer to deal for Amare Stoudemire - ESPN

Quote:
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns are closing in on a deal that would send All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire to Cleveland, according to sources with knowledge of the negotiations.

The Cavaliers would send Zydrunas Ilgauskas and J.J. Hickson to Phoenix in exchange for Stoudemire, one of the league's most dominant big man.

You give Lebron a 20+PPG explosive bigman who has a spectacular post season resume(25+10 on 52% shooting, including that Spurs series where he scored 38 PPG if I remember in 1 on1 situations vs TD) and its over. Hes already got arguably the leagues best team, adding a bigtime scorer downlow like Amare would be massive, could create a potential dynasty in the future as well.

The only question then would be the D, and I think if you put Amare on a defensive team he'll be at least average. Hes got the capabilities, but hes never really been told he HAS to play D by any coaching staff hes had. Replacing JJ fucking Hickson with anyone is a major upgrade. That guy is a scrub.

Like i said weeks ago, we need to make a move at the deadline to have any chance at beating any of the top 4 teams in the playoffs.

Cleveland will improve

Boston will improve

Orlando doesn't need to improve much if at all

Atlanta would smoke us as is

Im a little surprised that the contending teams are in more trade talks than us. Its a shame, Bosh wont resign to play with the same exact roster.

Nash? I would literally cry tears of joy and I'm not even from Canada

BC would be God if he could get Nash here. Here goes nothing:

Calderon, Evans to LAL
Nash, Walton to Toronto
Morrison, Farmar, Wright to PHX

One can dream, right? On a serious note though, Amare could just as easily leave over the summer and Phoenix could get nothing in return. At least they would get Hickson in this trade, who has played decent lately and has some upside. Picks will probably be included also. Its better than nothing.

That's an upgrade defensively on the wings in the starting lineup, which is what you would need with Nash starting at pg. In my opinion we seem to play our best basketball with Weems/Wright/Demar in the game along with Bargs and Bosh anyways.

And Nash starting at pg with Bosh and Bargs up front would create so many easy baskets, we would hardly need Hedo around to hear him complaining after the game about not having the ball enough.

So you wanna go into the playoffs with 3 wings that are 23yrs-under and have no playoff experience and who are all essentially rookies + Wright?

For Nash, who with better wings in Phoenix is struggling??

Um...no...there are more rumors of trades with other teams. BC doesnt leak to the media.

Everyone was ready to crown L.A. champs when they got Malone and Peyton for nothing. How did that work out?

Dont know why u named the title that. The season wouldn't be over, it would be very close though. Boston and Orlando both have much better teams than Cleveland in terms of depth and skill.

Like I just said, Wright, Demar, Weems will be more effective on the defensive end battling the likes of Vince, Allen, Lebron, then Hedo/Wright/Demar.

Losing Hedo's offense in exchange for Nash's is a plus anyways.

It's pretty simple Jeff, why do you want to keep dancing in circles with me, we clearly disagree.

I'm saying there seems to be a lot of rumors about other teams and their stars. They have to come from somewhere and often the leak comes from the head office to stir the pot. BC doesnt go for such shenanigans.

Wait, did I just read that Nash is struggling this season?

Put him on this team with our bigs and the athleticism of DeMar and you're looking at a solid, solid team. Yeah, Nash at PG will kill you defensively, but I guarantee you, none of the big 4 east teams would want to play us in the first round.
