Yup, I just heard about 10 seconds ago. I think the Bucks won this trade. Yi is good, but RJ is better IMO

I agree! Jefferson is a proven veteran scorer! Yi is an unknown.I wonder if Bargnani could have gotten us Jefferson? As much as i like Bargnani that is interesting!

I hope to God it's not just Yi and Simmons for Jefferson, for the Nets' sake. Jefferson had 22 pgg this season and Yi and Simmons had 8. That's still pretty lopsided if you ask me.

It sounds suspect! There has to be more to this deal!

Again who cares about PPG. It's not the end all be all of basketball.

Yi is a really good player, has a bright future and fits very nicely with the young core NJ has.

Nets Yi and Simmons for RJ

The New jersey Nets and Milwaukee Bucks are on the verge of a trade that will send Richard Jefferson to the Bucks for forwards Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons, according to NBA front-office sources.

Sources told ESPN.com that the deal has been agreed to and submitted for league approval in advance of Thursday night's draft. No draft picks are involved in the trade, sources said.

Such a swap would create an estimated $10-plus million in long-term savings for the Nets as they continue to re-shape their team after trading another mainstay -- point guard Jason Kidd -- to Dallas in February.

The trade would also enable Yi to make a move to the larger media market he was hoping for this time last year, when Milwaukee drafted him out of China with the sixth overall pick. Kiki Vandeweghe, New Jersey's new general manager alongside team president Rod Thorn, is a longstanding Yi fan who has frequently likened the 7-footer's perimeter skills and potential to Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki.

The Bucks, meanwhile, would be supplying new coach Scott Skiles with a veteran player coming off his best season to fill a problem position. Jefferson averaged 22.7 points per game last season and played all 82 games after an injury-plagued 2006-07 season.

Is the #8 pick being included? If not, the Bucks ripped off the Nets BIG TIME.

I dunno, man.... I think this is just fine for NJ. Yi is gonna be real good. Simmons is very good if he could just stay healthy.

The fact that it gives them so much cap flexibility = good deal for NJ. If only they could have shipped off Carter instead, they really would have been looking good.

I think Yi will be solid, but the Bucks made a HUGE splash. They don't need Alexander anymore. AT this point, they could look at a guy like Kevin Love to play the 4, or a combo point guard like Bayless (if he falls). When you talk about rolling out Bogut, Jefferson, Redd, Mo Williams and the #8 pick, that's SICK.

Meh..... I have never been a huge fan of RJ.

Plus, I don't think teams should be counting on a draft pick to fill a starter's role if they expect to be a contender.... at least not with the guys in this draft (after top 2 maybe).

I think the Bucks could take a guy like Kevin Love and they would have a tough front court with him and Bogut. Bucks made out like bandits. You gotta have them in the race for the playoffs next season.

i've always thought jefferson was overrated. he's proven to be a little bit more then a product of playing beside jason kidd, but he's not the star some folks here make him out to be.

If Skiles can get them to play defense and together, sure

I could also see it falling apart like the Knicks, though

Yi's a good player, but I dont think he'll be a solid 3rd guy like RJ has been. Yi's ceiling is at like 16 ppg I think
