Default Yi Jianlian may get a starting spot over LeBron or KG...

What a freakin' joke!

"The first All-Star voting results will be released Thursday, with a potential issue at the forefront. Second-year New jersey forward Yi Jianlian could be aided strongly by votes from his native China as he competes for one of the two starting Eastern Conference forward spots with superstars Kevin Garnett and LeBron James.

If Yi is not voted in as an All-Star, the budding big man has no chance of the East coaches voting him in as a reserve"

Yet another reason why the NBA needs to do something in regards to its voting structure. Maybe leave some players off the ballot instead of simply having a nominee from each team. Take 10 forwards and 10 guards and there you go.

Yeah, they only put him on the ballot because last season he got over 450,000 votes in only the write in ballot.

That would be hilarious if he won - I almost want him to get the nod just to show how flawed the whole system is. And to see what comes out of KG's mouth when he doesn't get it, would be too funny

i totally agree with Torontosaurus.
i hope he gets voted in to start.
the nba needs to realize how F'ed up this system is and this is what it will take to get it done, so be it.
the vote in will be an absolute joke, and it'll make the allstar game look bad. i love it!
i guarentee if this happens, they will change this flawed and out-dated system next year, so i hope it goes down.

Take the voting away from fans or have it weighted so our votes don't hold the same weight as players/coaches in a completely new system.

This is just sad seeing Yi go in above better players. NBA should see that this isn't an all-star game anymore but a popularity vote...

This nonsense goes on every year. I got news for ya. David Stern will suddenly have 500,000 votes vanish like that. NBA is not going to let the league be humbled like that.

Taking away the voting system isn't gonna be much better. For a Raptors fan or someone else who's a fan of a smaller known city team, the voting system is better. Whomever would vote would still overlook our players just like they do now.

Agreed, stop letting the fans decide throw it on the coaches/players/writers who pick for MVP and such.
