Yao Wants McGrady Out of Houston

That's not likely this season, as McGrady's $20.3 million is toxic to too many teams' luxury tax plans. Next summer, though, when McGrady will have an expiring, $22.4 million contract, teams may well circle the Rockets looking to make a deal.

It's not personal between Yao and McGrady. They like one another. But Yao's frustration is real. And Yao is not the only person that's grown tired of McGrady's self-diagnosis, his up-to-the-last-minute decisions on whether he'll play or not. This isn't questioning his toughness; McGrady took a bunch of pain-killing shots just to get through the first round of the playoffs. And it's unfair of anyone to judge McGrady on his ability to play well in pain; some can, some can't. Ron Artest wanted to keep playing on what the team is now calling a "stress reaction" in his ankle after gutting it out for a month, but he's been shut down for a week to 10 days.

i dont blame Yao.
McGrady is a shell of his former self and his contract is ridiculous.
Yao's shelf life in the NBA is pretty short due to his size and racked up mileage, so its pretty much now or never for the big man. Mcgrady isnt helping that team out whatsoever... and Yao needs help big time.
i can imagine that in summer 2010, it will be Yao's last chance to get a REAL player to play with... Houston will have alot of money to throw around.

but i also get the feeling that Tmac is simply recovering his body now for next season (contract year). he seems like the type of guy who wont do shit until it counts, i guarentee next season he comes out blazing and has one of the best years of his career. he plays for himself, and if next season is his contract year, look out.

Gotta feel for Yao. He has prob been wanting to play in the NBA all his life and has always heard about crybaby spoiled primadonna American players...and then he gets two of the biggest in Francis and McBaby.

Come to Toronto Yao!!!

off topic, but last night, Yao set a pick on Fisher, and Fisher literally had a hissy fit and spazzed out on Yao, who, wouldn't even look down at him as if to let him know he was a Gnat on a cows ass. Fisher got called for his infantile slapfest. So, Houston inbounds the ball and gets the ball to Yao, who was a little irritated. What blew m eaway was that he was mad, so he just drop stepped around whoever was guarding him, I dunno who it was because he was behind Yao and really, one a dude is there ya can't see him, but he just spun and dunked it hard. SO FUNNY!

Lesson learned, just dont make the sleeping bear mad and you'll be ok

I think Yao has been one of the most underrated players in the league for many years, he is a flat out stud who deserves to win.

underrated???
the guy was considered the best C in the league for the last 3-4 years... although this season, D12 got that title.
he's been an allstar starter for years now... what do you mean underrated?

I mean most casual fans i know never mention him when you mention the best players in the league, alot of ppl seem to view him as some sort of circus act not realizing the guy has mad skills. The hardcore fans have known since the start, but most ppl arent that hardcore and most ppl dont think Yao when they think NBA, hell more ppl wouldve given the nod to a worn down Shaq.

Also the same ppl say Yao is only an allstar because of China, when in fact he is an allstar because he is the best C for awhile, never getting out the 1st round hurts too tho, but only McGrady wears that label, Yao mysteriously doesnt?

Did you see him take a charge last night? 7'6 and he took a charge. It looked like a block, but their isn't an official out there that is cruel enough to call a block on a 7'6 giant who falls to the ground to get a charge. Yao is awesome, best big in the league imo. Although he really erred last night when he shot a two pointer with two seconds left and Houston being down three.
