Default Wolves Waive Ratliff, Who Will Sign With Pistons

Looks like the Pistons are beefing up their front court for the playoff run by acquiring NBA vet Theo Ratliff. Not official yet because the Pistons and Theo must wait 48 hours in order to clear waivers before he can sign with another team. Some nice insurance though.

everyones talking about the celtics grabbing PJ (and soon cassell) and barry going to the Spurs...
its pretty funny how this little gem has gotten the backseat.
as usual, detroit slowly gets better and better and is under the radar.
no one thinks about detroit... they creep around yet have the 2nd best record in the NBA... and yet are barely even mentioned among the top teams and their activity.

they bolster their frount court by adding a shot blocking expertise with a bit of gas still left in the tank in Ratliff.
in a few games this season, ratliff has put up 6/3, while thats nothing to write home about, his 2 blocks per game is.
they just landed a big body in the middle who will most definitely block shots and change even more shots during their playoff run.
this is a BIG acquisition for them, yet no one cares.

IMO, Detroit will run the east come playoff time... and no one seems to see it coming.

You forgot one thing Insider, Ratliff only plays like 30 games a year. His knees are worse than Carter's desire to play basketball. Pistons should just sit him out til the playoffs and HOPE hes ready to play.

I love Theo's game but hes probably the most injury prone player in the nba.

line of the year right there!!!!!!!!!!

he wont get more then 15 minutes a game i think, so his knees wont get that torn up.
and when the playoffs roll around, he'll be in there to pester Garnett... pester Shaq or duncan... he knows how to block. thats all he needs to do.
