Default Wolves sign Brandon Roy

Brandon Roy has reached a verbal agreement to join the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to multiple reports.

Roy

The Oregonian newspaper first reported the agreement. The two sides agreed to a two-year, $10 million deal, according to HoopsWorld.com.

Roy can't officially sign with Minnesota until July 11.

Roy, a three-time All-Star, announced his retirement last season after five seasons with Portland because of chronic knee problems. After sitting out the lockout-condensed season, Roy wants to try and resume his once promising NBA career.

The 27-year-old Roy has averaged 19 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 321 games. He was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2006 draft by the Timberwolves, but was traded to Portland for Randy Foye on draft night.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report

Seems like a foolish move to sign him for more than one year.

Seems foolish to sign a guy with dying knees.

His knees are done, but that one playoff game against Dallas last year when he exploded in the fourth quarter to win the game was impressive.

Yeah that was bad.

I hope everyone can see now that Afflalo >>> Roy. Funny that some people argued against that.

I hope you mean just now. Roy was well on his way to becoming a superstar before the injuries. Even Kobe said Roy was the toughest guard he's ever had to defend.

Haha yeah, I should've clarified that in the post.

I said this during the lockout. I also said he would retire due to medial reasons.

Obviously Roy was superstar material before the injuries lol. Afflalo is a role player at best. But after Roy's last season with the Blazers, he was done.
