I just assumed paul pierce would be in the deal, with pierce and kg sticking together

I guess only fools assume

this deal is big because if they get it done it pretty much seals the fact that chris paul returns to the clippers

I would like to see another super team form, I think the heat are vulnerable next year, 4 nba finals in a row and they look burnt out this year wait tell next year

clippers could win the championsip next year if they get this deal done

personally I would like to see the mavericks take a run at paul pierce and kg to add to dirk would be great,

Doc Rivers has been informed that the Los Angeles Clippers won't accept the Boston Celtics offer, according to sources.

The Clippers have been trying to acquire the rights to have Rivers as their coach along with Kevin Garnett in exchange for DeAndre Jordan and one future first round pick.

The Celtics have been seeking the inclusion of Eric Bledsoe and a second first round pick, who has presumably become the deal breaker.

With Rivers presumably off the board, the Clippers will offer the job to Brian Shaw or Lionel Hollins next week.

"Not looking good, but I wouldn't say (it's over) for sure," said a source that spoke with Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.

I don't think they should give up eric Bledsoe unless they can put paul pierce in the deal

garnett is a one year rental, it would be tough giving away to assets for a guy who might retire in the following year

clippers need to make the deal to try and keep chris paul, and the Celtics are in rebuild mode

Inb4 Bledsoe is proven to be overrated once he gets a starter's role

Agreed. I didn't get the huge excitement for him from everyone else. Don't think he's a top 20 PG.

on the right team he could be a force, if he played with a point forward, plus obviously once he becomes a starter his role is changed and he'll have to adjust

maybe his hype is higher then what he really is but he is still a great asset and player that any team can use, he has value

CORRECTED: Don't rule out this trade: Jordan, Butler, Green + a 1st rounder for Doc, KG + the Terry/Lee contracts. Clips keep Bledsoe.

Jordan is overrated, not worth Pierce and KG (even if they are probably a year or two away from retirement and not what they used to be). The guy has little to no offensive game and doesn't even make up for that by having high rebound numbers.

But I thought trading young assets and picks for players who have bad knees and are old is a forbidden ordeal

And yeah it's Willie Green.

The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers will continue their discussions on a trade involving Kevin Garnett and the right to hire Doc Rivers as coach on Tuesday.

The two parties are at an impasse after discussing the deal heavily over the past few days.

The Celtics are seeking a trade package centered around DeAndre Jordan and two first round picks. The Celtics are no longer seeking the inclusion of Eric Bledsoe.

The two firsts are good assests even if they would be late picks. Good setup for a rebuild to get rid of rental players who wont be around for long.
